The Baltimore Ravens (6-3) travel to Chicago to take on the Bears (3-6) on Sunday at 1 PM EST at Soldier Field. The Ravens are coming off a surprising 22-10 loss against the Dolphins last week, while the Bears are coming off of a bye week. Chicago last played in Week 9, where they dropped a 29-27 heartbreaker against the Steelers.
Let’s take a look at this cross-conference matchup.
Ravens at Bears Betting Analysis
On the Baltimore Ravens side
Baltimore has been a difficult team to read in 2021. They have defeated a number of quality teams, yet they have struggled against porous ones such as the Dolphins and Lions. It is hard to imagine them getting embarrassed by subpar teams in back-to-back weeks, but the Ravens can’t take anything for granted.
Lamar Jackson has been entrusted to carry this offense in multiple roles. Not only is he an impressive quarterback, but he also leads the team in rushing yards. It should be noted that Baltimore has dealt with a magnitude of injuries at the running back position, but regardless, Jackson has stepped up and carried the load.
Heading into Week 11, he has thrown for 2,447 yards and has also rushed for 639 yards. He is truly an incredible dual-threat talent.
Baltimore’s defensive unit has struggled as of late. They surrendered 22 points last week to an underwhelming Dolphins squad and gave up 31 points the week before to Minnesota. On paper, this unit is poised for a bounceback against a Chicago offense that ranks third to last in the NFL in points per game.
However, Miami ranks fifth to last in points per game, and they performed fairly well against Baltimore. Nonetheless, the Ravens defense should return to form and farewell in this matchup.
On the Chicago Bears side
We have discussed the fact that the Bears do not score a lot of points. With that being said, star running back David Montgomery is back from injury and is not expected to face much of a snap restriction moving forward.
He and quarterback Justin Fields make for a solid scrambling duo in the backfield.
Fields has labored in terms of throwing the ball so far in 2021. The young QB has just a 59.4 completion percentage to go along with only four touchdowns compared to eight interceptions. He does have 288 yards on the ground.
Roquan Smith leads a messy Bears defense. Despite the defensive issues Chicago has faced, Smith has been excellent with 93 total tackles. Unfortunately, one player can’t completely make up for the struggles of an entire team.
The Bears will place their focus on Limiting Lamar Jackson to the best of their ability. However, containing him is much easier said than done.
Ravens at Bears Prediction
The Ravens are 5 point favorites leading up to this contest. They should be in line to rebound from the brutal defeat last week. Jackson and the Ravens offense will put a good number of points on the board, while the defense should do enough to keep Chicago out of the endzone for the majority of the game.
Take the Ravens at -5.
