The Blues come into Tuesday third in the East but did lose on Sunday against the Ducks. They are tied with second-place Nashville with 35 points on the season so this matchup certainly holds importance for St. Louis.
Dallas is in the midst of a three-game losing streak including a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Sharks on Saturday. The Stars rank sixth in the East entering Tuesday.
Blues at Stars Betting Preview
Dallas Stars Preview: Find Offensive Momentum
The Stars are in desperate need of a victory after dropping three straight contests over the past week. Dallas has been tremendous in one aspect of the game and atrocious in another part of the game.
The Stars rank just 25th in goals scored this season.
Roope Hintz has been the saving grace with a team-leading 11 goals and 7 assists. Joe Pavelski and Jason Robertson have been productive as well. Pavelski has scored 9 times to go along with 12 assists while Robertson has found the back of the net 8 times and also has 12 assists.
Despite the performances of the above-listed players, the Stars have struggled to find any form of consistency on the offensive end. However, the defense has kept them in games.
Goalie Jake Oettinger is 5-1 with an impressive .951 save percentage and 1.52 GAA this season. He has outperformed the other goalkeepers on the team and looks like the future at the position for Dallas.
He leads a staunch defensive unit that ranks 8th in goals against so far this year.
If the Stars can get some momentum going on offense this is a team that could make a late-season run.
St. Louis Blues Preview: Overcoming Adversity
In contrast to Dallas, St. Louis features one of the top offenses in the league.
The Blues rank fifth in goals scored with 94 and fourth in total assists with 173. Pavel Buchnevich and Brandon Saad both have scored 11 goals, while Ivan Barbashev has scored 10. Robert Thomas leads St. Louis in assists with 20 on the season.
The Blues have been decent on the other end of the ice. They rank 16th in goals surrendered.
One important note for this game is that St. Louis is currently decimated with injuries. The team has 11 players on the injury report for this game including three dealing with covid protocols. The Blues will do their best to win this game despite the various injuries on the team.
If they can overcome the adversity we could see St. Louis escape with a win even with the unfortunate circumstances.
