The Rolex Monte Carlo Masters is the third event on the ATP Masters 1000 schedule, with a 56-player draw and 16 seeds.
The top eight seeds in the tournament receive an automatic bye into the second round. In addition, all Tennis matches at this Masters 1000 event consist of the best of three sets instead of the five sets played in Grand Slam tournaments.
This year’s tournament will be without world number two-ranked Carlos Alcaraz and 11-time champion Rafael Nadal. However, most tennis prediction experts agree that with these two players sitting out the tournament, this year’s Monte Carlo Masters predictions favorite is Novak Djokovic, who has been the best player on tour during the past year with six titles and seven finals appearances in his last eight tournaments.

Rolex Monte Carlo Masters Players To Watch
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Since losing in the finals at the Australian Open in January, Tsitispas has been inconsistent but always plays well on clay.
He’s the two-time defending champion of this event, but no player in the Open Era has won three straight Money Carlo Masters titles. However, tennis odds for the event make him one of the favorites to take home his third consecutive championship.
Novak Djokovic
Besides winning six of his last eight tournaments, Djokovic has won two of the three events he’s played in 2023. Leading up to this tournament, he’s won 15 of the last 16 matches, with 12 victories in straight sets.
He’s a two-time Monte Carlo Masters champion, winning his last title in 2015, and is the current favorite to win this year’s event.
Jannik Sinner
Sinner’s recent victory over Alcaraz in Miami gives him a major boost coming into this tournament, although he lost in the finals to Daniil Medvedev. He’s also one of the hottest players on the tour and has the potential to reach the final if he can remain focused.
The 21-year-old Italian has also reached the quarterfinals in all four Grand Slam tournaments, and Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters predictions show that bringing his recent success to the clay shouldn’t slow down his momentum. Many experts expect to see Sinner facing Djokovic in this year’s quarterfinals.
Casper Rudd
Rudd is also looking for his first title at Monte Carlo after reaching the semifinals in 2021. He’s known as a clay court specialist, winning three titles on the surface in 2022 and playing in the French Open final.
Rudd has a better than 73% win percentage on clay but struggles on the hard court, winning just 55% of the time. However, he won the clay event last weekend at Estoril, and Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters predictions expected him to make some noise before this competition is over.
Rolex Monte Carlo Masters Player Predictions
Djokovic doesn’t have to worry about facing two of the world’s top players, Nadal and Alcaraz, in this year’s tournament, meaning this year’s Monte Carlo Masters results will likely see him hoisting the championship trophy. He’ll also face many of the same opponents he did when he eliminated them on his way to the Australian Open championship.
Tsitsipas is nursing a shoulder injury, making his chances slim to challenge Djokovic and win his third straight title here. He’s also lost to Djokovic the last ten times they faced each other.
With the rest of the field currently playing below the necessary level to challenge the tournament favorites, Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters predictions favor:
- Djokovic to win his third title at this event in 2023.
