Brest is one of the teams in France with a long history. The team’s story dates back to the early 1900s, and after many name changes, they’ve become a top team in the league. Brest is an exciting team that would want to keep competing at the highest level in France as they try to be influential in Europe.

They are one of the early members of the French Ligue 1 and would continue to perform at the highest level as long as they can maintain their impressive form. As a result, we would look at the team to see how they would perform this season and what they would do in the French Ligue 1 and other cup competitions.

Brest General Info

Brest has been around for many years. The team has struggled for some period, but they’ve also made incredible strides throughout history. We can see that they are an exciting team that would keep pushing for a spot in the top-tier league in France. The team currently plays in the French Ligue 1.

The team’s full name is Stade Brestois 29, and their nickname is Les Pirates, which means The Pirates. They also go by Les Ti’Zefs. The team also went through different name changes. The first name was Armoricaine de Brest before it became Stade Brestois. After that, they were called Brest Armorique before settling for Stade Brestois 29.

They play their football at the Stade Francis-Le Ble in Brest, and the stadium has a seating capacity of 15,931. The current presenter is Denis Le Saint. The team would play their home matches in their primary colors; red and white. Their other color is black, the primary color for their third kit this season.

Brest History

The story of this club isn’t apparent. However, their history connects back to 1903, starting with Armoricaine de Brest. It was a team that survived two world wars and won some titles.

By 1950, there was a merger between five local patronages, including the Armoricaine de Saint-Louis, the Flamme du Pilier Rouge, the Avenir de Saint-Martin, the Millice de Saint-Michel, and the Jeune de Saint-Marc.

The merger created Stade Brest, and the objective was to beat the secular Brest club at the time, AS Brest. After many decades of pushing, the team finally rose through the ranks of French football.

The team enjoyed some successes but eventually had a heavy fall. It became a team competing in the amateur championships. Until 2004, the team struggled, but they gained momentum and started their journey back to the top. They finally secured a place in the first division after the 2011-12 season.

Brest Records

Brest stats show they have had many records in the top-tier division and lower leagues during their seasons. They’ve spent time looking to add more exciting records to their collection. They might not have won any top-division competition, but they have a few records playing in the lower divisions.

They are a team that would want to get better, and we can it from Brest stats that they’ve come a long way from playing in the CFA Division to the first division. We expect them to set more records and keep trying to remain in the top leagues, even with Ligue 1 cutting to 18 teams.

Brest was also part of the teams that participated in the transfer window. Their goal is to strengthen the team so that they can remain competitive. It would be exciting for the team as they work hard to retain their spot in the French Ligue 1 for the foreseeable future.
