The club and its image has evolved considerably over the years with two complete rebrandings. Championship won by the team

Colorado Rapids won its first and only MLS Cup in 2010. The club had a mediocre regular season that year, finishing seventh overall with a 12-8-10 record, but defeated Columbus and San Jose en route to reaching the final. It scored a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas in extra time, on an own goal credited to George John, to win the MLS odds that year. Despite reaching the semifinals of the US Open Cup during its inaugural season in 1996, Colorado Rapids stats has yet to win the annual competition. It finished as runners up in 1999, losing 2-0 to the Rochester Rhinos, which are the only non-MLS team to ever win the MLS Cup.

However, there are five players that are out on transfer and they are: midfielder Alexandru Matan to Rapid Bucuresti, forward Miguel Berry to D.C. United, forward Gyasi Zardes to the Colorado Rapids, midfielder Sebastian Berhalter to the Vancouver Whitecaps, and defender Aboubacar Keita to the Colorado Rapids. All in all, the MLS betting stats should favor these moves as it seems to be a net positive.

The winningest coach in Columbus Crew history was Tom Fitzgerald as he went 70-67-7 from 1996-2001, he also made four MLS Cup Playoffs and was 9-8-0 in those as well as being 7-3 in the U.S. Open Cup with the team.
