Team History
The Houston Dynamo FC has been around since the 2006 season as the San Jose Earthquakes players and their coaches were relocated to Houston, Texas. They have been doing incredibly well in their first few years as they were able to win the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup and became the second ever MLS Champions to win multiple years in a row since inaugural D.C. United did it in 1996 and 1997.
Houston Dynamo FC Records
The Houston Dynamo FC stats are a little weird as they only take into count from 2006 on, so they have some lesser records. Forward Brian Ching has the all-time club lead in goals (56), most goals scored in a single MLS game (4), and most overall MLS hat tricks (2). Their best goalkeeper was Pat Onstad, who had 37 shutouts and 384 saves in 136 appearances.
Championships won
The Houston Dynamo FC had an incredible start to their franchise as they won the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cups, the first two of the club’s existence.
Historical events
One of their most historical events, outside of the championships, was their first match as it was a 1-0 game against the Charleston Battery in the Carolina Challenge Cup on March 18, 2006. Another major win was back on March 12, 2016, as the Dynamo picked up their largest victory, 5-0 against FC Dallas, in which Brian Ching scored four goals.
Championship won by the team
In their first season branded as the Houston Dynamo FC, they won the 2006 MLS Cup by defeating the New England Revolution at Pizza Hut Park in a penalty shoot-out, the first time it happened in MLS Cup history. These two teams met once again in the 2007 MLS Cup, and the Dynamo picked up a 2-1 victory at RFK Memorial Stadium.
What are the Houston Dynamo FC 2022-23 Transfers?
The MLS odds change depending on what players you are able to get depending on the transfers. They received forward Nelson Quinones (loan) from Once Caldas, midfielder Adalberto Carrsquilla (undisclosed) from FC Cartagena, middle Hector Herrera (free) from Atletico Madrid, forward Thiago Fernandes (loan) from Flamengo, defender Zeca (free), midfielder Brooklyn Raines (allocation) from Real Salt Lake, and forward Sebastian Ferreira (undisclosed) from Libertad. Looking at the players out, the MLS betting stats definitely change as they have lost midfielder Ian Hoffman (loan) to Orange County FC, midfielder Derrick Jones (allocation) to Charlotte FC, forward Nico Lemoine (loan) to Oakland Roots, and forward Mateo Bajamich (loan) to Huracan.
Who are the Houston Dynamo Best Coaches?
One of the franchise’s best coaches was their first one in Dominic Kinnear, as he joined on December 16, 2005, and was the head coach until October 25, 2014. In that span, he had a 112-90-86 record, and he is the only coach in club history with more than 32 victories, which helped them climb the MLS standings. Wilmer Cabrera has also done pretty well as he was the head coach from October 28, 2016, through August 13, 2019, as he had a 32-39-22 record in his tenure.
