The Philadelphia 76ers (12-11) travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets (14-11) in an Eastern Conference battle. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 P.M. EST at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.
The Sixers last played Friday, where they narrowly escaped with a win by defeating the Atlanta Hawks 98-96. The Hornets had their chance against the Hawks on Sunday and also beat them in a close matchup by a final score of 130-127.
Charlotte currently ranks as the sixth seed in the East, while Philadelphia places ninth in the conference.
76ers at Hornets Stats
Looking at the 76ers stats
It took all hands on deck to defeat Atlanta on Friday for the Sixers. Each starter posted over 10 points, with Joel Embiid leading the way with 28. Embiid also had 12 rebounds and four assists in the win.
Seth Curry had 18 points and five assists, Goerges Niang posted 13 points and four rebounds, Tyrese Maxey scored 11 while dishing out five assists, and Danny Green added 10 points.
If Embiid continues to receive this kind of help, Philadelphia will be in good shape moving forward. It also could increase the Sixers points per game average, as they currently rank 19th in the league with 106.
One area where they excel is in the turnover department. The 76ers rank first in the NBA with just 11.6 turnovers per contest.
If they can take care of the basketball at an elite level while attacking with balanced scoring, Charlotte could be in trouble on Monday.
Looking at the Hornets stats
With four players inactive due to health and safety protocols, including LaMelo Ball, the Hornets were still able to earn a hard-fought win on Sunday.
Miles Bridges led the charge with 32 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. It was an incredibly clutch performance, considering the current state of the roster.
Kelly Oubre Jr stepped up as well with 28 points. Gordon Hayward and Ish Smith both added 18 points, while Smith also dished out an impressive seven assists.
Charlotte will look to keep playing well against the 76ers even with almost a fourth of their roster inactive.
Charlotte leads the NBA in points per game with 115. They also are third in assists per game, sixth in turnovers per game, first in field goal percentage, and fourth in steals per contest.
They are a fast-paced, energetic team who are capable of big things in the 2021-2022 campaign. But for now, they will focus on this matchup against Philadelphia.

Who to Bet
The majority of top sportsbooks have the 76ers as 5.5-point favorites in this game. Despite the Hornets coming off of a win and having the better record, the oddsmakers like Philadelphia in this matchup.
The Sixers have not played since Friday, so they do have the advantage in the rest department. Charlotte is also without LaMelo Ball and three other players, which limits their rotation flexibility.
I believe the 76ers will win this game, but expect Charlotte to narrow the listed spread.
Take the 76ers -3.
