NCAAF Week 1 season wrapped up Monday night, with the Duke Blue Devils upsetting the Clemson Tigers. While Duke was solid, that was a pretty big upset and one of the few in Week 1.
Coach Prime and the Buffaloes
The week saw some pretty fun games and some exciting score results. The Top 25 teams held their own, except two teams that fell. The first Top 25 team to fall was the TCU Horned Frogs.
The defending runner-up from a season ago could not slow down the Colorado Buffaloes in the opener. In a back-and-forth, Colorado came away with the most exciting win of NCAAF Week 1. The Buffaloes topped the Cornhuskers 45-42 in Fort Worth.
After Utah picked up a win on Thursday to get the party started and Colorado’s early win on Saturday, the Pac-12 was flexing muscle big time. The conference did not lose a game in NCAAF Week 1 and won a few games with outstanding results.
Georgia No Problems
The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs had no problems taking care of Tennessee-Martin, winning 48-7. The Michigan Wolverines were not great in their opener but allowed just a field goal to the East Carolina Pirates. Ohio State had a tough trip to Bloomington, Indiana, but made quick and easy work of the Hoosiers, winning by 20.
The fourth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide smashed Middle Tennessee 56-7, while fifth-ranked LSU was the top-ranked team to lose. Florida State smacked around the Tigers in the second half on Sunday night. Florida State was 8th and will move up this week following the win.
USC beat Nevada 66-14, Penn State took down West Virginia 38-15, and Washington started slow but scored 56 points against Boise State in the win. That rounds out the Top 10, with just two teams likely to make moves in the poll.

Week Two Coming Up
Looking ahead to Week 2, we should see some more great action—the Top 25 action starts on Saturday morning, with six teams at 11 a.m. CT. The 13th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish are at North Carolina State. Utah, who beat Florida, now has Baylor, who lost their opener in Waco. The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will host the Ball State Cardinals.
Delaware goes to Happy Valley. Penn State will likely move up a spot from 7 to 6 in the upcoming poll. Youngstown State gets to be the sacrificial lamb on the road at Ohio State, while Kansas State hosts Troy.
As the afternoon goes on, the Clemson Tigers have a short week and will host Charleston Southern. Iowa and Iowa State will play in a state rivalry game, while Texas A+M goes on the road to Coral Gables to take on the Miami Hurricanes. UNLV is at Michigan, while the Ole Miss Rebels and Tulane Green Wave battle in the first of two Top 25 matchups.
As the early evening arrives, the Washington Huskies host Tulsa, Tennessee, at home against Austin Peay, North Carolina, following their big win over South Carolina, will host Appalachian State. At the same time, Oklahoma, after their 73 points in the opening week, gets a home game against the Mustangs of SMU.

Late Night Week 2
The final eight games of the Week 2 slate start with a Top 25 matchup with Texas on the road at Alabama. The Longhorns and Crimson Tide will likely be in the Top 10 when the new poll is released. Grambling State is at LSU, Wisconsin has a tough road test at Washington State, while Nicholas State is at TCU.
The final games featuring ranked teams in Week 2 starts with Southern Miss at Florida State. Then UC Davis is at Oregon State, and Stanford visits USC.
Stay tuned here all week, as we will preview many of these games throughout the week. Enjoy the week and good luck with the games!
