Two teams are desperately trying to get their hats in the postseason mix! There is fantastic potential in what is bound to be a fantastic game! The high-riding Montreal Alouettes (2-4) head to hammer town to face off against the struggling Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-5).
Don’t let these records fool you. This is very different from betting soccer odds. These teams will show out on Thursday night!
CFL Game Records

Hamilton comes into the game one game behind Montreal, which puts them third in the East division. The Tiger-Cats are coming off a close loss to the BC Lions, which shocked many people. They lost 17-12 while leading most of the game.

Montreal Alouettes Analysis
Montreal has found themselves in an interesting predicament. They always come close but never seem to put the game away early enough. This could be the week they put their demons behind them!
The Als offense has been very explosive! Montreal averages 29 PPG, which puts them at third in the league. Trevor Harris seems to have won the starting job and has done great things under center. He is third in QBR (min 90 pass attempts) and second in YPA (min 90 pass attempts). Harris has made all his weapons very explosive!
The no-fly zone has been causing a fair bit of issue for the Als. They just can’t seem to keep teams out of the endzone. They allowed 30+ points in 4 games this year, losing three of those games. They have allowed teams to have a field day against them as they have allowed over 350 YPG.
Montreal will win this game if they can win the turnover battle. Hamilton will likely put the ball in the hands of the Als offense. It is up to them to dominate the time of possession and limit the turnovers. That will be the key to victory!
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Analysis
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been off to a very slow start. They are currently riding a Grey Cup hangover to the max. Yet they are a game back from the Als. This game can be a pivotal win for the Tiger-Cats to get their season back on track!
Hamilton’s offense looks solid on paper. Dane Evans leads the CFL in passes attempted and completions! Star WR Lance Dunbar is also leading the CFL in rec TDs. So what’s the problem, you may ask?
It’s the turnover bug! Dane Evans leads the CFL in INTs with nine and leads the CFL in fumbles lost with 5! The ball is often in the other team’s hands which is a major issue in hammer town.
While Canadians are known for being nice, this defense is not very welcoming when it comes to YPG. They allowed the third least amount of YPG with 333.2 and allowed under 27 PPG. This is not an easy defense to face off against.
Hamilton will win this game if they can limit Montreal in scoring. The Als are 0-2 when held to under 20 PPG! This is a realistic target for Hamilton if they can limit the number of times Dane Evans throws the ball! The fewer Evans throws, the fewer turnovers will be thrown!

Alouettes vs. Tiger-Cats Betting Preview
Knowing how to bet soccer is much different than football. As it stands right now, Hamilton has opened up as one-point favorites against the Als, a spread similar to soccer picks. The point total is listed at O/U 50.5! Vegas seems to be expecting a high-scoring close matchup, like in our Real Madrid vs. America prediction.
Montreal Alouettes vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Betting Prediction
There have been many instances this year where Montreal has capitalized on other teams’ errors. The Als defense has scored numerous times on the defensive side of the ball. Hamilton has not been able to limit their turnovers, like some euro soccer teams, and that ball will mostly be in the Als possession.
The Montreal offense will be able to find the endzone as they will probably have excellent field possession on most offensive possessions. While Hamilton’s defense has been great, like the favorite in a soccer bet, Montreal will run up the score and gain that momentum swing!
With that, I believe the Als got this game in the bag! That fact they are underdogs truly shocks me, and they will handily win this game!
