One of the most exciting weekends of horse racing action so far this year will take place across the Easter weekend. There are massive graded stakes horse races in 2024 in the U.S., with key Kentucky Derby prep action coming in the form of the Florida Derby.
Meanwhile, some of the best horses on the planet will be in action on Dubai World Cup Night. You can find out more about the high stakes races betting March below.
Florida Derby
Hades has a very progressive profile for trainer Joseph Orseno, and he got the better of Fierceness when landing the G3 Holy Bull on his stakes debut in February.
Adding to the excitement of this high-stakes race March, Bail Us Out, who dominated his last start at Gulfstream, could be a strong contender. However, Fierceness is preferred to make amends when making horse racing predictions this weekend.
- Pick: Fierceness
Arkansas Derby
Muth is an interesting runner for Bob Baffert after landing the G2 San Vincent Stakes on his previous start at Santa Anita.
Meanwhile, Mystik Dan brings some interesting form into this race after landing the G3 Southwest Stakes. Just Steel could also be an interesting selection after running on late to finish seventh in the G2 Rebel Stakes. However, he has form to find on Mystik Dan based on efforts in the G3 Southwest and Smarty Jones.
- Pick: Timberlake
Dubai World Cup
Kabirkhan is also among the leading contenders after impressing at Meydan since joining the Doug Watson yard. He has already won twice at the track this year, including most recently at the end of January to score in the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge.
However, Derma Sotogake could be the forgotten horse at this stage. He followed up his second in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic by finishing fifth in the G1 Saudi Cup. After a lengthy break, he solidly returned to action, and this race is his main winter target since Santa Anita.
- Pick: Derma Sotogake
