Ducati’s Jorge Martin’s charge to the 2023 MotoGP Riders Championship took another step forward, winning the entire weekend, claiming pole position, and winning the Sprint and Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix in Motegi.
MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix Picks

- Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) -150
Martin was followed to the Grand Prix finish by current and long-time Championship favorite Francesco Bagnaia, finishing second, with Honda’s Marc Márquez finishing third, Mooney VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi in fourth, and Aprilla’s Aleix Espargaró in fifth.
With Bagnaia’s Championship lead down to three points with only six races to go, the intensity ratchets up, and every sprint and grand prix matters slightly more as Ducati’s duo seem destined to battle until Valencia.
Insiders Betting Digest focuses on four MotoGP riders most likely for top-five finishes and fighting for wins and Championship points in our Grand Prix of Indonesia predictions.

Recent Results
With only one running in 2022 and the race held at a reduced distance due to extreme heat concerns, we don’t have much in the way of Grand Prix of Indonesia stats that we can review for our bettering preview. Moreover, the race has been moved in the calendar, with the problematic 2022 race held in March, while the 2023 edition moved to October.
However, Aprilla’s Miguel Oliveira won the third-ever Grand Prix of Indonesia racing for Red Bull KTM. Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo – who took the pole position – finished second, and Ducati’s Johann Zarco finished third.
The Mandalika Circuit is a fast, flowing circuit with incredible views and many overtaking possibilities.

Ready, Set, Go! MotoGP Grand Prix of Indonesia Betting Preview
Francesco Bagnaia – Lenovo Team (Ducati)
Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia has been a staple of MotoGP picks since the season began but has watched his mega Championship lead disappear as the season has progressed.
Since scoring five consecutive top-two finishes from the Italian Grand Prix to the Austrian Grand Prix, Bagnaia’s had a DNS at the Catalan Grand Prix and a retirement at the Indian Grand Prix in between two top-three finishes.
Bagnaia’s once mighty championship lead is down to three points, but unless involved in another crash, he’ll be in the mix to win in Indonesia.
Jorge Martin – Prima Pramac Racing (Ducati)
Prima’s Jorge Martin’s charge to dethrone Bagnaia has been impressive since Catalan, scoring four top-three finishes, three Sprint race wins, and three top-two finishes – including two wins – in the last three races. Martin should be fighting for a top-three finish in Indonesia.

Marco Bezzecchi – Mooney VR46 Racing Team (Ducati)
Bezzecchi is a distant third in the Riders’ Championship but highly competitive in the last five races, having four top-four finishes, including three top-three finishes, and winning the Indian Grand Prix.
