The Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers are one of the non NBA matchups taking place on the NBA schedule this evening, as they’re NBA teams.
Both teams are heading in opposite directions, with the Sixers looking ahead to the playoffs and the Hornets very well playing for the lottery. The Hornets vs 76ers spread should be wide because of that.
Last Game Records
The Hornets finished the 2021-22 regular season with a 43-39 record. The Sixers finished with a 51-31 record.
This is their first and only preseason game against each other on the NBA schedule. The Hornets vs 76ers spread should favor the Sixers pretty easily.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Analysis
What to expect from the Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball for the foreseeable future, as he suffered a terrible ankle injury that will keep him out through the beginning of the season.
The Hornets will also be without Miles Bridges, who was a huge part of the team’s success last season. Bridges is currently dealing with legal issues, with a return to action appearing highly unlikely this upcoming season.
Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, and Kelly Oubre will have every opportunity to fill in for Bridges this upcoming season with their ability to put up points in bunches. PJ Washington will be heavily relied upon as well to provide some 3-point shooting, rebounding, and defense.
Those players will help those who choose to go with Hornets picks on certain nights, as this team can still get out in transition with the rest of them and really surprise you on a night-in and night-out basis.
Can the Sixers go further even this season?
The Flyers put up some great NBA player stats, but the Sixers also put up great 76ers stats as well, as they have a bunch of guys that they can count on to carry them to wins on a nightly basis, which is why the Hornets vs 76ers Spread should heavily favor them.
Joel Embiid should continue to be expected to put up monster stat lines on a nightly basis in the points and rebounds categories. He has such great post moves that make it hard to stop him as well as guard-like skills that blow people’s minds. They leave themselves wondering how a 7-footer can put in all these moves.
James Harden will be a big-time addition to this team now that he’s in the mix through training camp and at the start of the season when it’s a pivotal time to start building team chemistry.
The duo of Harden and Embiid should be a deadly one, as both will go through high pick-and-rolls a lot of the time and generate offense through rolls to the rim or pull-up jumpers.
It’ll also be up to Tyrese Maxey to really step in and embrace his role of being the third option on this team. During the playoffs, Maxey looked every bit as built to handle a larger role within the confines of the Sixers’ team. Maxey can hit the three, create his own shot in the mid-range and use his burst of speed to get points at the rim.
The Philadelphia 76ers will also be hoping for a productive Tobias Harris, as he can light up the scoreboard on any given night when he’s feeling it.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Prediction
The Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball, which will make life even more difficult for them. Terry Rozier can easily step up as a scorer, but the lack of a true playmaker will hurt the Hornets.
Expect the Sixers to heavily feature guys like Tyrese Maxey and let James Harden get his confidence back, especially with Joel Embiid not expecting to play.
The Sixers will need the best version of Harden if they hope to get to the Finals this season, and for him to be the best version of himself, he needs to look to be a more aggressive scorer.
