The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are both NBA teams more focused on the regular season at this point in time, but in order for them to fill out the rest of their roster, they will also need to find some diamonds in the rough.
A good way for them to find potential role players is for them to showcase some of those potential diamonds in the rough in the Summer League, as many players in these games hope to have just one chance to step onto a professional court.
Before some of these young guns step onto a hardwood for some real NBA matchups, they got to go through the rigors of the Summer League first.
Last Summer League Score Records
The Heat fell to the Atlanta Hawks 95-88 in their last Summer League game. The Sixers lost to the Brooklyn Nets 91-84 in their last Summer League game.
Heat vs. 76ers Betting Analysis
Heat Analysis
Javonte Smart led the Heat in scoring his last time out, putting up 19 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the field.
Kyle Allman Jr. contributed 14 points on 3-of-6 shooting, as he got to the free-throw line 10 times, converting eight of them.
Mychal Mulder went off for 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting in the Heat’s first Summer League game, as he’s looking to improve his game in the hope of becoming a more featured part of the Heat’s rotation.
He has the 3-point shooting the Miami Heat desperately needs. Haywood Highsmith had 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the Heat’s first Summer League game. Orlando Robinson provided 12 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in the first game.
Heat’s Team-First Mentality
A common theme around the Heat is that if you’re willing to put in the work, play with a team-first mentality and do all of the little things that contribute to winning basketball, there will be a spot for you on the roster, and you will have a chance to play meaningful minutes.
Jimmy Butler knows a thing or two about grinding from the bottom, so this is a great opportunity for these young guns to show him what they got.
76ers Analysis
Cassius Winston led the Sixers in their last Summer League game, as he provided:
- 16 points
- seven assists
- five rebounds
Charlie Brown Jr. contributed 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including two 3-pointers. Charles Bassey had 11 points and nine rebounds. Isaiah Joe led the Sixers in their first Summer League game with 24 points, as he shot 7-of-9 from three.
76ers Strategy
The Philadelphia 76ers are desperately looking for some help from a floor-spacing standpoint, as Joel Embiid tends to do his damage in the paint and James Harden also tends to drive hard to the rim.
On drives to the rim, Harden loves to kick the ball out to open shooters out on the perimeter. The more help the Sixers can provide for Harden, the better chances the Sixers have of going deep into the playoffs.
The Sixers are also seeking a backup center to Embiid, as they’ve struggled to find a true replacement for Andre Drummond.
It can be hard for Embiid to handle the rigors of a full NBA season, so finding a backup for him is very important.

Heat vs. 76ers Betting Preview
NBA betting odds have the 76ers as a two-point favorite. The 76ers are -130 on the moneyline, while the Heat are +110. The over/under is set at 172.5 points.
Heat vs. 76ers Betting Prediction
Both of these teams have a lot of young talented players to showcase in this one. The Sixers are bringing in some players ready to make some noise in an NBA game to this one, as Bassey is trying to find his niche as a center in this league on both ends of the floor.
The Heat have Mulder who is trying to find his niche as a 3-point specialist in this league, as the Heat would welcome some floor spacing next to the combination of Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Shall be a fun Summer League game either way!
NBA Pick: 76ers (-130)
