The Bulldogs last defeated Arkansas in 2020, but as noted, the two since then have been all Hogs. Last season, Arkansas used a dominant second half to run away from the Dawgs with a 26-point win on February 2. It was their seventh victory in a row during a nine-game win streak and a stretch where they won 14 of 15.
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Arkansas Razorbacks Analysis
This will be one of three SEC matchups among the slate of NCAA basketball games today as Tennessee visits Texas A&M and Missouri hosts Mississippi State in the others. Arkansas is coming off a 19-point win over Florida on Saturday to snap a two-game skid, while Georgia had their two-game winning streak halted by Alabama in blowout fashion this past weekend.
Georgia Bulldogs odds have been inflating as of late as they have been crushed four times going back to January 25. The Tide easily covered on Saturday despite laying 18.5 points, drubbing the Dogs by 49 as Georgia surrendered 100+ points for the first time this season.
It was also the largest margin of victory by either team in the history of the series. The Dogs only have two players averaging double-figures in points, and their leading scorer, Terry Roberts, is in a bit of a slump, notching just 8.3 ppg over his last four games.
Arkansas Basketball’s Performance
Arkansas got back to the .500 mark in the conference by virtue of the double-digit win over the Gators but hasn’t been more than a game over that mark in SEC play yet this season. They do have one of the best college basketball players in the conference in Ricky Council IV, who is second in the SEC in scoring behind only Bama’s Brandon Miller, and the Wichita State transfer will get his first taste of Georgia tonight.
As it pertains to this matchup, the college basketball injury report is relatively clean, though it’s still noteworthy to point out that the Razorbacks lost their third-leading scorer, Trevon Brazile, for the season due to a knee injury back in December.
