Our college basketball betting analysis and prediction previews continue with this Big 12 showdown between the Oklahoma Sooners (10-5, 1-2 Big 12) and Kansas Jayhawks (14-1, 3-0 Big 12) on Tuesday night. Tip-off from Allen Fieldhouse is scheduled for 9:00 pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
This is the first of two regular-season meetings between the two conference rivals, with Kansas set to repay the visit to Norman in mid-February. The Jayhawks swept the season series a year ago but won the two meetings by a combined five points. The Sooners’ last win over KU came in January 2021. Last Game Records
When considering college basketball picks, it’s important to look closely at the college basketball standings and how each team fared the last time they were on the floor. Oklahoma snapped a two-game slide by knocking off Texas Tech in overtime on Saturday by five.
Saturday was also the last time Kansas laced ’em up as they extended their winning streak to eight with a comfortable 14-point win over West Virginia. The Tuesday slate is chock full of good matchups. This one might be one of the more compelling NCAA basketball games today.

Oklahoma vs. Kansas Betting Analysis
We are a night removed from a college football National Championship that had the country’s attention, including from many college basketball players. But now the focus shifts firmly to the hardwood, and what better team to pivot to than the defending champions?
Kansas Jayhawks
KU is back up to the 2-spot in the Top-25 rankings thanks to a 14-1 record that’s seen them post winning streaks of six and eight, respectively. They are, without question, one of the best NCAA basketball teams in the nation.
The only blemish on the Kansas Jayhawks’ schedule thus far was to Tennessee the day after Thanksgiving. But it’s also worth noting that Rock Chalk is just 7-8 ATS this season.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma is the reverse of their Tuesday opponent, entering this conference matchup with an 8-7 record against the number. They closed as five-point underdogs on Saturday, upsetting the Red Raiders outright despite being up double-digits with under 10 to play as Texas Tech was without two of their key starters.

Oklahoma Preview
When checking the Oklahoma Sooners standings, we find them two games back of the triad at the top that includes Kansas State, Iowa State, and these very Jayhawks.
The Sooners are one of four teams in the Big 12 with an overall record of 10-5, as every team in the conference boasts a winning record.
OU’s win means that the Raiders have lost three straight to open their conference slate since the 2014-15 season. Their two defeats before Saturday’s win came against Texas and Iowa State, both of whom are ranked.
Kansas Preview
We’re giving credit where it’s due when it comes to last season’s champions. But when looking closer at their NCAAB schedule, Kansas has only really been tested a handful of times.
Through their first 15 games, the Jayhawks have only faced three teams that were ranked at the time of their matchup, beating Duke and Indiana while falling in that tilt with Tennessee.
The look-ahead factor could be in play on Tuesday as a tough stretch is staring KU right in the face. After this one against OU, Kansas will square off against Iowa State, Kansas State, and TCU, all ranked opponents back to back.
As if that weren’t enough in a loaded Big 12, they’ve still got Texas looming twice on their schedule, including the regular-season finale.
Updates
Nothing is notable on the college basketball injury report about these two programs.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
The NCAAB odds for this matchup have Kansas listed as a 9.5-point favorite on Tuesday night with an over/under of 133 points. Kansas is a healthy favorite on the Moneyline at -500, while the Sooners come in at +370.
Oklahoma vs. Kansas Betting Prediction
Our final Kansas vs Oklahoma prediction forecasts a win for the home team, but the Sooners will cover the big number.
We noted how Kansas could get caught looking ahead, and in two of the first three conference games for the Jayhawks, they won by a combined five points, including once as a double-digit favorite. Give us Oklahoma and the points on Tuesday.
