Let’s see which team is the one who takes the win on this Buffaloes at Sun Devils betting pick.
In a matchup of two teams in the Pac-12, the Colorado Buffaloes are on the road to face the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday in Sun Devil Stadium. This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season. The kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
Arizona State Sun Devils Preview
Week three of the college football season brought plenty of action and plenty of upset for the Pac-12 conference, with just a few positive takeaways from this past weekend. The USC Trojans had a nice bounce back, and the Oregon Ducks remained unbeaten, but the rest of the conference really struggled.
The Sun Devils kicked off their season with a dominant win over FCS opponent Southern Utah and then earning another victory at home over the UNLV Runnin Rebels. A road matchup with BYU ended the consecutive win streak as they beat 27-17 in front of a sold-out crowd. Over the years, BYU has been able to have its way with the Pac-12 just coming away with win after win.
The Sun Devils have really struggled at the quarterback position as Jayden Daniels has gotten off to a rocky start. Over his last two games, Daniels has tossed three interceptions leaving a cause for concern for this team moving forward. While turnovers are going to happen, Daniels has not produced enough scoring opportunities to help this team and hope for success with the conference play set to get underway. The Sun Devils are 14.5 point favorites in this game.
Colorado Buffaloes Preview
The Colorado Buffaloes opened the season with a 35-7 win over FCS opponent Northern Colorado, but since that win, it has gone downhill pretty quickly. Despite nearly pulling off a big upset over the Texas A&M Aggies 10-7, things ended up worse in their contest last weekend. The Minnesota Golden Gophers shut out the Buffaloes 30-0.
Since the meeting with Aggies, Saturday’s game marked seven straight quarters that Colorado has failed to put any points on the scoreboard. This team’s last touchdown came all the way back in the first quarter against the Aggies, where they took an early 7-0 lead.
Like the Sun Devils, quarterback play has been a huge disappointment for this team and is little to no threat. Because of this, teams are able to lock in on containing Jarek Broussard. Against Minnesota, Broussard had the worst game of his collegiate career, carrying the ball five times for only 11 yards.
The first thing this team needs to do is find a way to fix the issue under center, and that should allow the running game to open up more. It could be a long season in Colorado as they work through this.
In conference play, the Sun Devils own an 8-3 advantage over the Pac-12 South Division. Pretty solid for a team headed into conference play, but it’s Colorado that owns the matchups against Arizona State as of late.
The Buffaloes have won two straight meetings over the Sun Devils and three of the last four games. The last time these two teams met was back in 2019 when Colorado came away with a 34-31 win despite being a 7.5 point underdog.
