The Atlanta Falcons will travel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South matchup. The Panthers are last in the NFC South with a 3-4 record and are coming off a 25-3 road loss over the New York Giants.
Sam Darnold went 16-of-25 for 111 yards with an interception before being benched. The Falcons are third in the NFC South as they are coming off a 30-28 road win over the Miami Dolphins.
Matt Ryan finished 25-of-40 for 336 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Gotta Give Me Moore
The Carolina Panthers are trying to improve offensively, and one player trying to step up is wide receiver DJ Moore. So far this season, he has 46 receptions for 586 yards (12.7 yards per catch) and three touchdowns.
In his last game against the Giants, he finished with six catches on ten targets for 73 yards (12.2 yards per reception). If he can figure out how to do a little more here, it will do wonders for the Panthers.
The Carolina Panthers have been a pretty good defensive team this season as they are giving up 20.9 points per game. In their previous game against the New York Giants, they allowed 25 points on 302 total yards of offense (199 passing, 103 rushing).
They need to be a little better against the run, as the Giants averaged 3.3 yards per rushing attempt. If they can fix some problems, it will be a great spot for them.
Pitts Dominating
The Atlanta Falcons have been doing extremely well offensively with rookie tight end Kyle Pitts. So far this season, he has 31 receptions for 471 yards (15.2 yards per catch) and a touchdown.
In his last game against the Miami Dolphins, he finished with seven receptions on eight targets for 163 yards (23.3 yards per catch). The last two games have been doing well for him, so Pitts can step up here and make this a new norm.
The Atlanta Falcons have been struggling defensively a little bit as they are giving up 29.3 points per game. In their previous game against the Miami Dolphins, they allowed 28 points on 413 total yards of offense (281 passing, 132 rushing).
The Falcons need to step up defensively as they allowed the Dolphins to go 7-of-11 on third down. If they can get some stops, it will do wonders for their defense.
Who to Bet on Falcons at Panthers
The Panthers have been struggling offensively as they are averaging 16.3 points in their last three games, and Sam Darnold has struggled lately but is expected to remain the starting quarterback.
The Falcons have been getting better as of late as Matt Ryan is beginning to find that constant chemistry with tight end Kyle Pitts after back-to-back 100+ yards receiving games.
The Carolina Panthers are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games against Atlanta Falcons. All in all, go with the Falcons to cover the spread at home.
