The Denver Broncos schedule hasn’t been too kind to the AFC West team this season, or at least their performance hasn’t been up to par. Denver, coming off of a bye week, is 3-5 this season and third in the NFL standings for the AFC West.
They take on the surprising 5-3 Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tennessee had its surprising five-game NFL schedule winning streak snapped last Sunday with a 20-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
As usual, the team’s run game kept them in it, with Derrick Henry rushing for 115 yards on 17 attempts. Rookie quarterback Malik Willis, filling in for the injured Ryan Tannehill, was just 5-16 passing for 80 yards.
Denver Broncos Season Forecast
Denver didn’t expect to be 3-5 when it arrived at the Broncos vs Titans spread matchup. The team had thoughts of winning the division, or at least making the playoffs, but have looked terrible through eight games – and that’s putting things lightly. Denver is lucky to be 3-5.
Russell Wilson, whom the Broncos acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in the offseason, has been nothing short of a disaster. Ignoring his awkward and cringeworthy “Let’s ride” promos and Subway commercials, his play on the field makes Denver a not-so-popular pick in Broncos vs Titans picks.
Wilson, signed for seven more years after this season, has just six touchdowns and a dismal completion percentage of 58.8. He’s been sacked 23 times.
As far as NFL team stats go, the Broncos sit outside the top 20 in passing yards and are tied, coincidentally with the Titans, for the fewest touchdowns in the league.
Fortunately, their defense has allowed the fewest all-purpose yards in the league at just 1,326. If Wilson was at least average, Denver would regularly be a favorite in NFL matchups.
Matchup Information
Moneyline
Opening Line
Denver Broncos opened at +135 on the moneyline as of Monday morning.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
Denver is now +130 on the moneyline, perhaps due to injury concerns to Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. However, he hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game.
What Make Lose the Bet
Unless Tannehill is ruled out, the line for the Broncos vs Titans spread or moneyline likely won’t change much. Other updates to the NFL injury report could change things, however.
Spread Line
Opening Line
The Broncos vs. Titans spread opened Monday with the Titans as -2 point favorites.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The Broncos vs. Titans spread has since adjusted to -1.5 for the Titans, which is likely also due to Tannehill’s health status.
What Make Lose the Bet
Not surprisingly, Denver is also just 3-5 against the spread this season, as they’ve played well below expectations.
Total
Opening Line
The total for Sunday’s game opened at 39.5, which is low but appropriate, considering it involves two of the worst offenses in the league.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The line, as of Wednesday, has lowered to 38.5. Again, this could be because of Tannehill’s health status.
What Make Lose the Bet
Denver has only hit over the total once in eight games this season, so there’s a strong chance you may lose an over bet on this game.
Denver Broncos Betting Trends to Know
In addition to their overall ATS and over/under records, Denver is 1-2 in over/under and ATS on the road.
Tennessee Titans Season Forecast
By nature of being in a weak division, the Titans were expected to contend for the AFC South division title this season, but they’ve been much better than anticipated.
Derrick Henry again leads all running backs in NFL player stats with 870 yards and ranks second with nine touchdowns. The Titans only have four passing touchdowns this season, however.
Moneyline

The Titans opened as -148 favorites on the ML.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
Tennessee is now -145 ML favorites.
What Make Lose the Bet
Tennessee Titans is coming off of a tough 20-17 loss to the Chiefs but should feel comfortable with how they played, given the poor play of rookie QB Malik Willis.
Spread Line
Opening Line
The Titans opened as -2 point favorites.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
Tennessee is now just a -1.5 favorite, likely due to Tannehill’s status and the fact the Broncos are coming off of a bye week. NFL teams are 7-3 after bye weeks so far this season.
What Make Lose the Bet
Without Tannehill, the Titans could be in a tough position to cover the Broncos vs Titans spread, let alone win the game.
Total
Opening Line
The total for Sunday’s game opened at 39.5.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The line is now adjusted to 38.5 because bettors are favoring the under. Sportsbooks have adjusted to attract bets on the over.
Tennessee Titans Betting Trends to Know
The Titans are 6-2 ATS at home, tied for the best record in the league. They’ve only hit the over in two of eight games thus far.
Most Profitable Players to Bet On
Russell Wilson
All signs point to an eventual turnaround for Wilson, right? If there was ever a time for him to turn things around, it’s this week against Tennessee.
Wilson has two weeks to prepare and gameplan with his offense. He has only thrown for more than one touchdown once this season, but hammer the bet if his touchdown total is listed at 1.5.
Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry is a dominant force on the ground and is gaining momentum as the weeks’ progress. He ran for fewer than 100 yards in each of his first three games but has since eclipsed the century mark in five consecutive games.
Yet, the Broncos’ run defense is among the best in the league, even without Bradley Chubb. Fade the rushing yards for Henry.
Jerry Jeudy
Like Wilson, Jerry Jeudy hasn’t met expectations this season. Yet, he’s turned things around lately with 63 and 96 receiving yards in his last two games. He had 54, 53, 53, 17, and 11 in his previous five games.
Expect Jeudy to hit the over on receiving yards and receptions this week.
