Fans were robbed of Aaron Rodgers/Patrick Mahomes NFL matchups last November when the Green Bay quarterback tested positive for COVID. The Chiefs won a defensive battle 13-7 at home in Week 9.
NFL Preseason Schedule
The preseason NFL schedule won’t feature the battle of the MVPs either, as Rodgers doesn’t play in the preseason, though Mahomes does. Rodgers and the Green Bay starters sitting out will impact the Chiefs vs. Packers betting stats for this game.
This will be the last chance for players on both teams battling for roster spots to impress. Green Bay opens the regular season in Minnesota with their MVP and regular skill position starters back in the lineup.
The Chiefs open in Arizona in what could be an offensive shootout between a pair of Super Bowl hopefuls.
NFL Injury Report
The Chiefs have NFL injuries with new wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster questionable, along with Mecole Hardman and defensive tackle Chris Jones.
The Packers have yet to see draft pick Christian Watson on the field because of injury, while offensive tackle David Bakhtiari was removed from the physically unable to perform list with an ACL injury this week, but he’s not expected to play in Kansas City.
Expect head coaches Andy Reed and Matt LaFleur to be rather conservative in this contest to avoid any further injuries as the preseason comes to a close.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Green Bay Packers Betting Picks and Prediction
Looking at the NFL odds for the Chiefs vs. Packers betting stats this weekend, the Chiefs are favored by just less than a touchdown on the opening line.
The betting total is just over 40. The defenses for both teams have been ahead of the offenses so far in the preseason for both of these teams.
One of these teams will end the preseason 2-1, but both teams have bigger aspirations for the regular season.
The offenses will likely be fine, even though both teams traded their top wide receivers in the offseason, the Packers sending Davante Adams to the Raiders and the Chiefs shipping Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins.
NFL Picks
The NFL picks will be popular in this matchup with strong fan bases and attention on both sides. The way the defenses have played so far this preseason, the first team to 20 will likely win.
With the Packers missing two starting linemen and most of their key weapons watching from the sideline, betting on the Chiefs is the move.
Who to Bet On?
Even if Mahomes only plays one drive with Travis Kelce, Edwards-Helaire, and company, the Chiefs will have more talent on the field Thursday night.
But again, with the Chiefs vs. Packers betting stats, look at points to be at a premium, especially with reserves on the field for most of the game. The best look for this one is to take the under in the points total.
NFL Pick: Under 43 points (-110)
