Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Analysis
Matthew Stafford helped the Los Angeles Rams win a Super Bowl. But, since then, things have not gone well for the veteran signal-caller. Now, with the news that Cooper Kupp likely will not play in this game, his prediction for Week One is not strong. Stafford and Kupp both missed time a season ago. Stafford finished with just over 2,000 passing yards, while Kupp had 812 of them.
Cam Akers is going to be the Los Angeles Rams stats leader offensively in 2023. The former Florida State running back played 15 games last season and carried the football 188 times for just shy of 800 yards. Akers had seven touchdowns on the season. If the Rams can stay competitive, Akers should reach 1,000 yards this season.
The Rams drafted offensive guard Steve Avila out of TCU and Byron Young, a defensive end out of Tennessee, with their first two picks. They came in the second and third rounds, as the Rams did not have a first-round pick.
Seattle’s Offensive Boost
The Seattle Seahawks had an interesting draft. Pete Carroll and his staff drafted two offensive skill players with two of their first four picks. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a receiver out of Ohio State, was their 20th overall pick, while running back Zach Charbonnet, out of UCLA, was their second-round pick.
Those two will combine with an already impressive offensive unit. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf combined for more than 2,000 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns a season ago. Kenneth Walker was the top running back, as he reached over 1,000 yards in his rookie campaign and scored nine touchdowns.
Geno Smith is back as the quarterback for Seattle. He finished last season with 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns, playing in all 17 games. The Seattle Seahawks schedule shows them on the road at Detroit in Week Two.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Picks
As we mentioned above, this game has the makings of all Seattle, all the time. Geno Smith and company were solid a season ago, and the Rams defense will not have an answer for them. Then, on the offensive side, the Rams cannot keep up. It does not appear Cooper Kupp will play in this game, and that’s bad news.
Look for the Seahawks to smash the Rams.
