New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals Betting Prediction
On Sunday Night Football, 7:00 into the game, the Dallas Cowboys blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown, and that was all it took to beat the New York Giants. Things got worse, though, as New York trailed 16-0 after one and 26-0 at halftime. The Cowboys added 14 more second-half points and won 40-0. It was the worst shutout loss in history between the two NFL teams.
Daniel Jones was not very good in his opener. He completed just 15 of 28 passes for only 104 yards and had two interceptions. Darren Waller was his top target, albeit in a limited way. Waller caught three passes for 36 yards in the game. Saquon Barkley was also held in check in the game. Barkley rushed 12 times for 51 yards.
The Giants are playing their first of three straight against NFC West foes. They are at the 49ers on Thursday Night Football for Week 3, and then a bye in Week Four before hosting the Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week Five. New York Giants games will be a little on edge until they get back on track.
QBR Dilemma
For Arizona, they were competitive but couldn’t quite get it done late. The Cardinals struggled to pass the football, with just 114 yards in the game. Joshua Dobbs got the start, and his QBR after Week One was 18.3. He finished with 132 passing yards but did not throw a touchdown pass.
Rondale Moore was the top receiving threat for the Cardinals but finished with just 33 yards. James Conner rushed 14 times for 62 yards in the game. Arizona came out after their Week One loss and said Dobbs would remain the Week Two starter despite the slow offense.
The Arizona Cardinals schedule will see a tough go of it, as they have back-to-back home games with the Giants and Cowboys before heading to San Francisco to take on the 49ers and then coming back home to host the Bengals.
New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals Betting Pick
The New York Giants have got to get back on track. They cannot afford to start the season 0-2 in that division. Arizona will start 0-2, but that’s expected, as this is a team that many projected not to win a single game all season. Look for Daniel Jones to get back on track and have a big game here.
Jones throws for 250+ yards and a couple of touchdowns. The New York Giants win this game on Sunday.
