Penguins at Bruins Betting Analysis
Pittsburgh Penguins Betting Analysis
The Penguins had a great first half and are currently just three points out for the lead in the Metropolitan Division. One thing is for certain, losing the last four games before the All-Star break was not how the Penguins wanted to head into the break.
Giving up control of the top of the Division is never what any team wants. The Penguins will look to regain control in the next few weeks but will need a big win against their rival Bruins.
Jake Guentzel, Kris Letang, and Sidney Crosby have all reached 40 total points to lead the Penguins’ offense. Guentzel is leading the team with 46 points, scoring 23 goals, and assisting on 23 others.
Letang is right behind him with 41 total points, scoring just five goals but assisting on 36 others. Crosby is also right in the hunt for the top spot with 40 total points, scoring 12 goals and assisting on 28 others.
Boston Bruins Betting Analysis
The Bruins also did not finish the first half of the season the way they would have wanted. Losing three of their last five, the Bruins find themselves in 14 points out of first place in the Atlantic Division.
If the Bruins are going to try and get back in that mix, they are going to need to figure out their offensive issues. In their last five games, the Bruins averaged just 2.4 goals per game.
Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak are the leaders of the offense for Boston. Marchand has a team-high 49 points, scoring 21 goals and assisting on 28 others.
Pastrnak is catching him quickly with 43 total points, scoring 22 goals, and assisting on 21 other players. Pastrnak has recorded at least one point in nine of their last ten games.
Team Updates
The Pittsburgh injured reserve situation is not the worst in the NHL. They currently have six players listed, with one listed as questionable.
The Bruins have, right around, the same situation on their team, except they have three names that are due to return very soon. The Bruins will focus more on trying to get offensive productivity instead of worrying about their injury report.
- The Penguins won six of their last ten games before the All-Star break.
- Pittsburgh was over the total points in six of their last ten games.
- The Bruins won six of their last ten games before the All-Star break.
- Boston was over the total goals in six of their last ten games.
Penguins vs. Bruins Betting Preview
Tristan Jarry has started a majority of the games for the Penguins this season. Jarry has a record of 23-8-2 and is giving up just 2.21 goals per game.
Jarry finished the first half giving up back-to-back four-goal games, which was the first time this season he had given up that many goals in back-to-back starts. If Jarry can get his mind right and get back into the swing of things, he could help the Penguins make a deep postseason run.
The Bruins have made Linus Ullmark their main starting goaltender. He has a record of 16-6-1 and is giving up 2.64 goals per game. When Ullmark gets a break, the Bruins use Jeremy Swayman.
He has a record of 8-7-1 and is giving up just 2.31 goals per game. While the Bruins would never hope for a single player to get hurt, it is a likely injury.
Expect the Penguins to come out and play extremely fast to start this game. They are in a spot where they are competing for the top of their division. This will, more than likely, be the best game of the night.
