AS Monaco vs PSG Analysis
AS Monaco Preview
It has been a reliable season to this point for AS Monaco, with their Ligue 1 scores throughout the campaign seeing them sit in the final Champions League position. Monaco came into this round after winning two of their last three, but those two victories are the only maximum points that they have picked up over their last five.
However, their record in home matches against PSG deserves a lot of respect. Monaco have won each of their last three fixtures against the Parisians at Stade Louis II, which is as many as they have won in their last 13. But, their recent home record could be a major issue, as they have failed to win in their last four, which is their longest winless run since between March and May 2019.
AS Monaco Projected Lineup:
(4-4-2) Majecki, Singo, Maripan, Salisu, Quattara, Golovin, Diop, Fofana, Minamino, Balogun, Ben Yedder
AS Monaco Injuries:
Denis Zakaria sits out this clash on Friday due to suspension, while Mohamed Camara, Vanederson, and Krepin Diatta miss out through suspension.
PSG Preview
The current league leaders will be looking to extend their advantage to 14 points on Friday by landing a fourth win in five matches. PSG came into this round after picking up a draw in their previous fixture, which ended a three-game winning sequence in the competition. But, those dropped points did little to enable the chasing pack to gain much confidence.
PSG’s record in the French top flight has been excellent this season, losing just once in their last 23 matches. Over that period, they have recorded 16 wins, with just six matches ending in draws. Paris Saint-Germain are the only side in Europe’s top leagues not to have fallen behind in an away match this season.
PSG Projected Lineup:
(4-3-3) Donnarumma, Hakimi, Beraldo, Pereira, Hernandez, Ruiz, Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Dembele, Mbappe, Asensio
PSG Injuries:
Marquinhos and Milan Skriniar remain the two key players missing for PSG, while central defender Presnel Kimpembe is also unavailable.
AS Monaco vs PSG Pick and Prediction
The AS Monaco vs PSG odds appear to take into account the host’s poor recent record at Stade Louis II, but the fact that they have won their last three home matches against the Parisians is interesting. That being said, PSG looks a good value bet at the Ligue 1 odds available this weekend to claim maximum points.
- Pick: PSG (+110)
