Injury Update

In a possible preview of a January playoff game, the Titans travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills in the best game of NFL Week 2.

Titans vs Bills Betting Preview

The Titans and Bills entered the playoffs last season as two of the favorites to emerge from the AFC. Tennessee was the number one seed after finishing on top of the NFL standings, and the Bills had one of the most explosive offenses in the league thanks to quarterback Josh Allen’s breakout season.

Ultimately the Titans lost to the Bengals in the playoffs by a field goal, ending their dream, and the Bills lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in overtime.

But it was a good season for both teams, which makes the NFL matchup between the two in Buffalo one that everyone wants to see. Titans at Bills odds will show how evenly matched the NFL teams are.

Rivalry History

Because of the terrific game the Titans and Bills played last season – a 34-31 Tennessee win – you knew when the NFL schedule came out that this game would get primetime billing.

This rivalry also features one of the most incredible playoff endings ever, when the Titans beat the Bills in the Music City Miracle, sending Tennessee to the Super Bowl and beginning Buffalo’s streak of 17 seasons without a playoff appearance.

Back when the Titans were in Houston, these two teams also played in the Frank Reich comeback game when the Buffalo Bills overcame a 35-3 third-quarter deficit to win.

Matchup Trends

There is lots of history between these two teams, and when looking at the Titans and Bills stats, we see two very good teams that go about their offenses in two very different ways.

Josh Allen is the key for Buffalo, and all plays begin with him as the focal point. In 2021 he threw for 4,407 yards but also rushed the ball for 763 yards, according to NFL stats. He accounted for 42 total touchdowns and was nearly perfect in the postseason last year.

The Titans begin every offensive play with Derrick Henry as the focus. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been very good since taking over in Tennessee, but this team is at its best when Henry is running downhill at defenders. It’s no coincidence that he rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns in the Titans 2021 win over Buffalo.

Venue Information

Last season’s meeting was in Tennessee Titans, giving the Titans a slight edge. This year they are playing at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, meaning that there will be 71,000 table diving crazies in attendance, giving the Bills the advantage. It’s too early in the season for Lake Erie weather to add to that advantage.

Highmark Stadium was opened in 1973, making it the second oldest stadium in the AFC and the fourth oldest in the NFL.

Betting Tips for Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills

Early Titans at Bills odds have the home team as a near touchdown favorite, and this is based on a few different things.

If you look at the Titans at Bills stats, you’ll see that even though Tennessee finished 2021 with the better record, the Bills had a better offense – No. 3 vs. No. 15 – and the better defense – No. 1 vs. No. 6. Always looking at this is one of our great NFL betting tips.

Josh Allen is also the NFL odds betting favorite to win the MVP award this season, and the Bills are the NFL pick as the betting favorite to win the Super Bowl. Titans at Bills odds would most likely favor the bills by approximately 6 points.

Add in that the Titans no longer have wide receiver A.J. Brown, and Derrick Henry is coming off an injury that cost him half the season, and you can see why oddsmakers have made Buffalo the pick to win in this one.
