Mariners at Twins Betting Analysis
Seattle Mariners Betting Analysis
Seattle’s pitching told the story of the first two games. The Mariners allowed a total of four runs in those contests. However, the same could not be said for Sunday.
LHP Marco Gonzales got the start and lasted just two innings. He allowed six runs (two earned) with only one strikeout and three home runs. The bullpen went on to allow four runs for a grand total of 10.
Mitch Haniger stayed hot at the plate with a strong 2-4 showing including a double and his second home run of the season. Haniger quietly enjoyed a tremendous 2021 campaign and could be in store for even bigger things in 2022.
Leadoff hitter Adam Frazier added two hits and one RBI in the game as well.
The Mariners will send RHP Chris Flexen to the mound on Monday as they hope he can right the ship on the pitching front. He will face the difficult task of slowing down the Twins offense following their breakout performance on Sunday.
Minnesota Twins Betting Analysis
The Twins finally got things going on Sunday. The big bats were flexing their muscles in the game as Minnesota combined for six home runs.
Byron Buxton smashed two bombs while Jorge Polanco, Carlos Correa, Gary Sanchez, and Max Kepler all added one homer. This is an underrated Twins lineup that has the potential to be amongst the best in baseball this season.
Buxton’s performance stands out the most. The talented outfielder has some of the best talents in the league but has been hampered by injuries over the past few seasons. Buxton could be a realistic MVP candidate if he is able to stay on the diamond for the majority of the 2022 campaign.
So far so good for the star outfielder.
Correa hit his first home run of the year on Sunday. The shortstop surprisingly signed in Minnesota and figures to be a mainstay in the middle of the lineup moving forward.
Bailey Ober started for the Twins and gave up four runs over 5 innings. He was far from dominant but did a good job of keeping the Twins in the game and ultimately earned the win.
Dylan Bundy will make his Twins debut on Monday.
Updates
- Minnesota holds an early-season run-line record of 1-2.
- Seattle is 2-1 against the run-line to open the year.
- The Twins are also 1-2 against the run-line as a favorite.
- The Mariners are 2-1 against the run-line as an underdog.
Mariners at Twins Betting Preview
The majority of MLB picks will be going towards the Twins following their strong performance on Sunday. However, Dylan Bundy is fresh off of a miserable 2021 campaign. On the other hand, he was excellent in 2020.
It remains to be seen what version of Bundy Minnesota will get in 2022.
I tend to agree with most sports betting guides heading into this matchup. The Twins are favored and will likely build off of Sunday’s huge victory to capture a second straight win and split the series.
