Alonzo Menifield (11-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and William Knight (10-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will square off in Vegas. The festivities will begin at 7 P.M. EST with the prelims, and the Nevada main card is scheduled to commence at 10 P.M. EST on December 4th. The fight will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Menifield and Knight were originally booked to fight at the beginning of 2021 but could not do so because of covid concerns. These two have been waiting a long time for this opportunity to come to fruition, and neither wants to be the one on the losing end after waiting all of this time.
Alonzo Menifield vs. William Knight Betting Preview
William Knight Preview: Get the Job Done Early
Knight is 33 years old and stands 5’10, 206 pounds. Back on April 10th, he was defeated by a decision in the third round against Da-Un Jung. However, Knight bounced back nicely with a knockout of Fabio Cherant in August.
Knight’s best bet is to get out early and either KO his opponent or at least wear him down in the first and second round. If he is unable to do this, it could lead to a late victory for Menifield.
Knight is 10-2 in MMA action to go along with 9 KO’s and one win by decision. His calling card is the knockout punch without question. Expect him to go for the knockout blow early to catch Menifield off guard and steal a win.
Alonzo Menifield Preview: Keep the Good Times Rolling
Menifield is off to a hot start in 2021, with two victories this year. He defeated Fabio Cherant back in May and then beat Ed Herman in August. The last time Menifield was defeated was September of 2020.
Menifield is a guy who is not afraid to last in the ring and earn the win via decision. He is undoubtedly a quality striker, but he mixes aggression with patience, which is difficult for opponents to defend and frustrates them.
Menifield checks into this match at 6’0 tall and 204 pounds. He is 34 years of age.
Who to Bet on Alonzo Menifield vs. William Knight MMA
Top sportsbook odds generally have Menifield as the projected winner of this fight. He has had a tremendous 2021 and would love nothing more than to cap it off with a third win.
On the other hand, Knight is coming off of a victory and could be on the verge of developing a winning streak himself.
The one clear thing is that these fighters are very prepared to face one another. Menifield and Knight were scheduled to fight in February, but that was canceled due to covid protocols. The fight was then rescheduled for a March date, but that was also canceled for the same reasons.
It has been nine months since these two were first gearing up to square off, so this should be an intense battle between light heavyweights.
Realistically, unless Knight can get the KO, Menifield should earn the victory. He is not just a talented fighter but also an intelligent one. He knows when to be aggressive and when to back off.
Roll with Alonzo Menifield for this fight, but expect an entertaining match.
