The Chicago Cubs (26-33) and Los Angeles Angels (31-30) will square off in what should be an exciting Tuesday night clash.
Making MLB picks for this game could prove to be difficult. The Angels are favored at home, but both teams haven’t fared too well in recent action.
First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 PM EST on Tuesday, June 6, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA. Let’s take a look at the Cubs vs Angels odds, MLB player stats, and picks for the game.
Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Angels Odds
The MLB schedule wasn’t necessarily kind to either the Angels or Cubs this past weekend. The Angels faced the Astros, while the Cubs were up against the Padres.
That said, San Diego has struggled mightily in 2023. Chicago did a good job of earning a series split on the road against the Padres.
The Angels were hoping to at least earn a split in Houston. Instead, they lost their series versus the Astros 3-1. Their pitching struggled throughout, allowing at least five runs in each of the first three MLB games.
In the end, though, with the Angels returning home, they are favored in this contest. The pitching matchup played a role in determining the final Cubs vs Angels odds.

Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview
The Angels snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday with a victory over the Houston Astros. However, they are just 2-3 over their past five games overall.
The Cubs most recently earned a series split in San Diego against the Padres. Their MLB standings remain far from ideal, though, as they sit in fourth place in the NL Central. Chicago is also 2-3 over their past five games.
Starting Pitchers
Let’s take a quick look at the starting pitchers!
Hayden Wesneski (Cubs)
Hayden Wesneski (2-2, 4.81) is the starting pitcher for the Cubs. Wesneski features a fairly high ceiling but clearly hasn’t enjoyed a great 2023 campaign by any means. He’s not a bad pitcher, though, and may be able to lead a Chicago Cubs odds upset.
His ERA is a bit deceiving. He’s only allowed more than three earned runs twice this season. He surrendered five earned back in April against the Seattle Mariners and gave up seven earned runs to the Minnesota Twins in mid-May.
Aside from those outings, he’s been fairly reliable. Wesneski most recently pitched 3.2 innings of one-run baseball. Prior to the Twins outing, he had pitched back-to-back games of one-run baseball over six innings in each performance.
The Angels feature a talented offense, ranking seventh in runs scored among all MLB teams, but don’t be shocked if Wesneski performs well on Tuesday.
Tyler Anderson (Angels)
Tyler Anderson (2-1, 5.47) will get the ball for the Angels. Anderson was a key offseason signing following a strong 2022 campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2023 though, Anderson hasn’t fared well.
Anderson had a miserable start to the season. Following a strong first start of the year, he allowed at least five or more earned runs in three consecutive outings. He then followed that difficult three-start stretch with five straight starts of allowing three earned runs or less. It seemed as if Anderson had finally figured things out.
His ERA skyrocketed once again following a recent six-earned run effort over four innings against the Chicago White Sox. Nevertheless, Anderson has been pitching well in recent action aside from the White Sox game. The Cubs’ offense is a decent, albeit far from spectacular unit, so Anderson shouldn’t face too much trouble against them.
Before making our final Chicago Cubs versus Los Angeles Angels picks, it should be noted that both ball clubs have a number of players on the MLB injury report. Overcoming those injuries will be crucial on Tuesday.
After reviewing the Cubs vs Angels odds and analysis, it is now time to reveal our official predictions for the game.
Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Angels Picks and Predictions
- Over/Under: Take the under
- Moneyline: Los Angeles Angels
Expect both pitchers to perform better than anticipated, which makes selecting the under on the total a good bet.
In the end, the Angels are the best moneyline pick at home on Tuesday night.
