Covington vs Masvidal Betting Analysis
Colby Covington Betting Analysis
Covington is the number one fighter in the welterweight division, and his record speaks for itself. At 16-3, he put up seven consecutive victories before losing to Usman in a fifth-round knockout.
When fighting against the competition, Covington typically beats the mess out of everyone he battles. The only exception so far has been Usman, but he has still been able to put up plenty of strikes.
At 4.14 significant strikes a minute and only taking on 3.09, he sets himself up perfectly for a striking war with anyone. In addition, he is heavily aggressive at takedowns, with 4.10 every 15 minutes.
Jorge Masvidal Betting Analysis
Masvidal has a long history of fighting within the UFC and has naturally become a fan favorite. At 35-15, he has battled a ton of fighters that were excellent in their prime in the UFC.
His recent performances brought him back in the spotlight after taking care of Darren Till, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz. In addition, his first battle with Usman went to decision, so fans naturally wanted another. However, Usman was able to finish the fight in the second round by knockout.
Masvidal loves to strike, with 4.22 significant strikes a minute and take on only 3.01. So historically, his numbers have been consistent in his favor.

Colby Covington vs Jorge Masvidal Betting Preview
Non-title fights for the main event on pay per view in the UFC do not come along too often. Unless your name was Conor McGregor or one of the Diaz brothers, you just do not see it advertised. The fact that these two are popular names among fans speaks volumes, and it is refreshing to see excellent fighters go at it without a title on the line.
This is an excellent matchup for these two fighters, regardless of how they are feeling about each other. It does help that they want to tear each other’s head off, but as you can see from striking alone, Masvidal has the power and consistency.
Looking at Covington, he might be just a tad behind on the striking power, but he is insanely aggressive at getting takedowns with excellent cardio and wearing opponents out. If Covington is able to keep Masvidal on the ground, this fight definitely heads in his favor.
Covington will most likely look for takedowns early and often if they are working. Not to say Covington is scared to box, but Masvidal has legitimate one-punch knockout power, and keeping him on the ground could work out early.
Covington vs Masvidal Betting Prediction
Covington will try to create pressure early and force Masvidal to move on his back foot. The two will probably exchange a handful of strikes before Covington attempts some takedowns.
After the first round, you could potentially see a confident Covington and maybe engage in more striking sessions. Unfortunately for Masvidal, he might be on the downward slope of his fighting career.
Covington has a good opportunity to land a TKO of some kind, potentially a ground and pound, in the later rounds once he is able to wear down Masvidal. This will not be the last of Masvidal, but most likely his last main event.
