Electric car racing, also known as Formula E, has experienced tremendous growth in popularity since its introduction in the motorsports industry. With each year comes an expanding number of races and participating cities consisting of 13 competitions hosted worldwide. It’s truly an exciting time to come together and get ready to rumble.
The 2022 Formula E Mexico City Grand Prix is a force to contend with as this year’s race calendar seems to have loads to showcase. The event is expected to happen this February 2022. All fans, spectators, and racers can expect nothing less than the style you’d typically find with non-electric cars participating in Formula 1 racing.
So, let’s have a detailed look at the analysis and prediction for this upcoming event.
An Overview
So far, we’ve seen the Formula E events being hosted in Berlin, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Monaco, New York City, Paris, Rome, and more. For the 2022 race calendar, this year’s event will make another appearance in Mexico City following the 2018 event.
Previously known as the CBMM Niobium Mexico City ePrix, this year’s event will be held right in the heart of Mexico City at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The February 2022 Formula E Mexico event was meant to be the fourth round to the 2021 to 2022 electric car season, right alongside the championship’s fourth edition.
Lucas di Grassi won last year’s race. Following him, we saw Antonio Felix da Costa take second place, and third place went to Venturi Edoardo Mortara. This year’s race will take place on Feb. 12.
Your Track Guide
This season’s electric car race will be taking place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. It’s a popular motorsport circuit race track that’s 4.304km long with 17 total turns for race cars.
For those interested in history, the race track got its name from renowned race drivers Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez. According to research, while he was practicing for the Mexican Grand Prix non-championship that was going to take place in 1962, Ricardo Rodriguez passed away.
Nine years after the fatal event, Ricardo’s brother, Pedro Rodriguez, also passed away at the same venue while driving.
After opening in 2015, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has since hosted the Formula E Mexico City Grand Prix event. In the years before this, the event happened in two separate periods through the use of distinct layouts. With this specific format, the last time it happened was back in 1992.
You can find the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit right in the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City public park. This is within the southern area of Mexico City.
When it comes to the subject of ownership, the government is meant to be responsible for this even though Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento is currently running the event through OCESA, one of the CIE subsidiaries.
The circuit has undergone quite a bit of improvement and renovation, with the front straight to include a paddock and media center. This has all happened under the command of the prequel to the 2015 Formula One relaunch, Hermann Tilke.
The Schedule
Verification for the Formula E Mexico schedule was received in 2018 for the fourth year in a row. The verification and announcement was made by the FIA World Motor Sport Council on Jun. 7 in that year.
During that time, a schedule was formally issued to have the event hosted at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in the southeastern region of Mexico City. It’s known that this specific event will be the fifth time the race has been hosted in Mexico City.
Mexico Grand Prix Betting Analysis
After his win in Santiago, we have Sam Bird, that’s remained right at the top of the charts taking the lead for all drivers part of the championship.
According to the Formula E Mexico results, he has a total of 43 points. Shortly after Bird, we have Jerome d’Ambrosio, who has a total of 41 points.
It was a tight choice for the spot in third place between Antonio Felix da Costa, Bird’s racemate, Robin Frijins, and defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne.
Let’s hope Antonio Felix da Costa doesn’t back out of this one after failing to make an impact following his successful win at the season’s first race.
With the championship for the teams, everything is going as expected. We have Virgin leading with 71 points, Mahindra following with 59 points, and then we have Techeetah coming in third place with 47 points.
Mexico Grand Prix Betting Predictions
This year’s E Prix event is the fourth round of the season, and many fans and spectators are pulling out all the stops to place those bets and make some precise predictions. If you happen to be one of the punters that are ready and excited to start placing those bets, remember to check the results of all qualifying rounds continuously.
This way, you’ll make far more accurate decisions when analyzing results for bets with the available odds.
In most cases, the best performers that excel during the E Prix qualifying rounds tend to surface with similar performance in the final race. The case may be different if any unforeseen circumstances happen to take place.
Take the Superpole, for instance. Out of the top 10 of their best performers, only four of them kept their positions after the final race. The remaining six were seen holding close spots to the top four.
With this, punters can precisely analyze these results and use this for the upcoming championships and races.
For this reason, many of us have high hopes for Sam Bird, Jerome d’Ambrosio, Antonio Felix da Costa, and the remaining seven spots that make up the top 10 for this season.
