Most MotoGP races this season have featured likely 2023 Riders’ Champion Francesco Bagnaia on the podium and usually on the top step. However, Aprilia Racing’s Aleix Esparagaró pulled off the upset and emerged from Silverstone. With the win at the British Grand Prix, having started 12th on the grid.
While Bagnaia is omnipresent in Insiders Betting Digest’s MotoGP betting previews, Espargaró and Aprilla’s recent results are evidence. There’s much to race for with half the season remaining.
Insiders Betting Digest gets you ready for the tenth stop on the MotoGP schedule with our Austrian Grand Prix betting preview.

Recent Results
Although the Austrian Grand Prix has a history dating to 1971, with a period of inactivity through the late-90s and the 2000s. There are only two drivers with previous race-winning experience in Austria in our MotoGP predictions.
Francesco Bagnaia is the current leader atop the MotoGP standings and the most recent winner in Austria, winning in 2022.
The only other rider with a winning pedigree in Austria is KTM’s Brad Binder, who won the 2021 edition of this race.
In 1996, the Austrian Grand Prix moved to its current the Red Bull Ring, a short, fast circuit with ten turns. An uphill run to turn one to start things, and a middle section where time will be lost and gained through turns 6-8, with two final, fast right-hand turns before the sprint to the start/finish line.

Francesco Bagnaia – Ducati
Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia is among the favorites each Grand Prix weekend, and our Austrian Grand Prix predictions are no exception. MotoGP is entering the tenth race. And Bagnaia is as close to a lock to win the Riders’ Championship as possible.
While having two retirements and a disappointing 16th-place finish in Argentina, Bagnaia has finished in the top two in six of nine races. He has seven top-three Sprint Race finishes this season. And is the overwhelming betting favorite heading to the Red Bull Ring.
Marco Bezzecchi – Mooney VR46 Racing Team
Bezzechi’s retired from the British GP but finished second in the Sprint, his fourth top-three finish this season. We expect him to bounce back to the form that saw him win the Sprint and finish second in the 2023 Dutch TT.
On the season, Bezzecchi has two race wins and has finished in the top eight in each of the MotoGP races he’s finished (8 of 10) and could be an underdog to win.
Aleix Espargaró – Aprilia Racing
Aprilia’s improvement over the past two Grand Prix has given Espargaró his first two podiums of the season. We expect this trend to continue, with Espargaró looking for his seventh top-ten finish of the season.
