Motorsports consistently demonstrates that anything can happen in a race. After two consecutive non-finishes, Prima Primac Ducati’s Johann Zarco stormed from fifth on the grid to take the win ahead of Riders’ Championship favorite Francesco Bagnaia by 0.201 seconds and pole-sitting teammate Jorge Martin – who finished fifth, providing unexpected MotoGP results and a betting underdog win.

Francesco Bagnaia – Ducati Lenovo Team
Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia always features in our MotoGP picks as he’s put together an outstanding season of top-three finishes, with four retirements keeping the Championship battle close. Bagnaia has six race wins this season and 11 top-three finishes in 16 races. Notably, in the races he’s retired from, Baganaia has finished in the top three in each Sprint Race.
In his last three races, Baganaia has three consecutive top-two finishes while scoring four top-three finishes in the previous five races, with his only blemish being retiring in India – where he finished second in the Sprint race. Baganaia will continue his season-long campaign of excellence and is likely to compete for the win at Buriram.
Jorge Martin – Prima Pramac Racing-Ducati
There’s one rider who can take the Championship from Bagnaia: Prima-Ducati’s Jorge Martin. After an impressive streak of performances from the Catalan Grand Prix to Japan, Martin’s last two Grand Prix results have hurt his Championship charge.
Martin scored four consecutive top-three finishes in both the Sprint race and Grand Prix, including winning the San Marino and Japanese Sprint Races and Grand Prix. A retirement after winning the Sprint race in Indonesia and fifth place in Australia hurt Martin’s Championship charge, with Martin focused on a gamble-free race in Thailand.
Marco Bezzecchi – Mooney VR46 Racing Team-Ducati
Most of the top MotoGP riders finish somewhere in the top ten consistently, making it hard to select one rider to upset the field.
There’s no better pick than Marco Bezzechi, who has four top-five finishes in the last five races, including winning the Indian Grand Prix, but finished sixth recently in Australia.
