Food City 300 Betting Picks and Predictions

The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues this weekend with the Food City 300 at Bristol Motorspeedway. It’s the 26th event on the NASCAR 2022 schedule and is the regular season’s final race before the playoffs start for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship.

The 41st running of the event will be held on September 16 at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN. The track is a 0.533-mile-long oval, with drivers completing 300 laps.

A.J. Allmendinger

One of the favorites to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship, Allmendinger has a 38-point lead over Ty Gibbs for the regular season championship.

He has three wins on the season and has dominated with 12 top-five and 22 top-ten finishes. This puts him toward the top of the list in the NASCAR Standings.

Allmendinger is currently third in the playoff rankings behind Noah Gragson and Ty Gibbs. He has 12 career Xfinity Series wins, with ten coming with Kaulig Racing.

He finished sixth in last week’s Kansas Lottery 300 and is the defending champion at the Food City 300.

Noah Gragson is fourth in the regular season standings but leads in the playoff race with 2045 points. In 25 starts, he has five wins with 14 top-five and 18 top-ten finishes in 2022. 

Gragson also leads all drivers with 13 stage wins this season. This is his fourth full season in the Xfinity Series while driving the No. 9 Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports.

He will also be after his third straight win after taking the checkered flag at Darlington before his win last week at Kansas Speedway.

Ty Gibbs

Gibbs also has ten top-five and 16 top-ten finishes in 2022 and has a chance to win his first regular season championship in his first season racing full-time in the Xfinity Series.

Gibbs won the ARCA Menards Series Championship in 2021 while racing part-time in the Xfinity Series. He won his first start in the Series last season at the Daytona road course in February 2021 and has nine victories overall at this level.
