Ty Gibbs
Gibbs hasn’t had much success in his first season in the NASCAR Cup Series, with four top-ten finishes in 13 races in 2023. Last year’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion qualified third at Talladega and fourth at Las Vegas, only to finish outside the top 20 in each race.
However, based on the lesser competition in this 100-lap race and his past success, Gibbs is among the top racers in the All Star Open odds to win.
Ryan Preece
Preece’s most significant accomplishment this season on the NASCAR Cup Series was winning the pole position at Martinsville, where he finished 15th and gained his only playoff point. Last season, the driver for Stewart-Haas Racing picked up his first win in the Truck Series at Nashville and had seven top-five finishes.
Preece also has 25 career wins on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which helped make him one of the All Star Open picks to win on Sunday afternoon.
Josh Berry
Berry has yet to win in 11 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2023 but ranks fourth in the standings with nine top-tens in those starts. He also has three top-five finishes in his previous five races and came from 19th on the grid to finish second at Dover two weeks ago.
As one of the most consistent drivers in this season‘s Xfinity Series, Berry is among the top NASCAR picks to win the All-Star Open.
AJ Allmendinger
After finishing fifth in last year’s Xfinity Series championship and picking up his second straight win at Circuit of the Americas in 2023, Allmendinger again moved up to the Cup Series, where he finished as high as 13th in the standings in 2014.
He has one top-ten finish in 13 starts this season but is one of the favorites in the Cup Series odds against the small field of drivers at the All-Star Open.
Aric Almirola
Almirola is ranked 26th, just ahead of Allmendinger in the 2023 NASCAR Cup standings. He took the pole at the season-opening Busch Light Clash, finishing 18th, and won the Duel 2 at Daytona the following week after starting second. Since then, he’s had one top-ten finish, taking sixth at Martinsville.
Almirola has three Xfinity Series, and two Truck Series wins in his career and is one of the favorites in All-Star Open odds to take the All-Star Open checkered flag.
Who Will Win the All-Star Open?
- Josh Berry is the top driver in the 2023 All Star Open odds this weekend.
His nine top-tens in the Xfinity Series tie him with standings leader John Hunter Nemechek, and he should be the fastest driver in this abbreviated field.
Berry has been consistent and is the obvious choice in the NASCAR odds. He also looks ready to break through for his first season win and move on to the All-Star Race.
