Now that the 2023-24 NBA season is starting to wind down, it’s time to really start taking a look at the top futures betting options that are out there. Most of those betting options will involve looking at the top NBA teams, but now is the perfect time to bet on individual awards as well.
While following scores and odds throughout the season is essential for successful regular season betting, the final stretch allows for focused analysis on awards races.
The most prestigious NBA regular season award is the MVP Award, but there are some other great options available as well. The Sixth Man of the Year Award is one of those options, and that list has been shrunk over the last few weeks.
Here are the current odds to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, and the top picks to make.
Odds to Win Sixth Man of the Year
Player | Odds |
---|---|
Malik Monk | -170 |
Naz Reid | +130 |
Norman Powell | +2100 |
Bobby Portis | +5000 |
A Big Favorite
When looking to bet on the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, there is one player that clearly stands out from the pack. That player is Malik Monk of the Sacramento Kings, and it’s starting to look like this award is going to be his to lose.
The betting odds for Monk are now sitting at -170 and that would make him a really big betting favorite to come away with this award. Monk has become one of the best offensive players for the Kings, and he is good enough to completely take over a game.
Sacramento has not been as great as expected this season, but it hasn’t been the fault of Monk. The shooting guard has done a great job of putting points on the board this season, and he really came out of nowhere in this market.
When looking to bet on NBA Sixth Man 2024, looking at Monk and taking him at -170 is going to be a great option to consider.
Other Contenders
There are currently just three other players with betting odds to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year as the rest of the players have been removed. Since Monk is the big betting favorite, there will be a ton of value when looking at the other three names that are on the list.
Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves is also in the mix to win this award and he currently has odds set at +130. When looking at team standings, the Timberwolves are ahead of Sacramento and that could end up having an influence on the voters.
Norman Powell currently has odds set at +2100 to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, and he always seems to be in the mix in this market. Bobby Portis is the only other player in the NBA Sixth Man odds discussion, but he is currently a huge underdog.
The odds for Portis are set at +5000, and it’s starting to look like he isn’t going to be a realistic option. There used to be close to 20 players with betting odds to win this award, but things change as the season moves along.
Odds Always Change
When looking at betting odds to win any futures market in the NBA, those odds are always changing throughout the year. That is definitely the case in this market, and some players end up playing their way off of the list altogether.
Norman Powell was the betting favorite to win this award before the season began, but he just hasn’t had one of the better years of his career. Monk has continued to make shots for the Sacramento Kings this season, and he looks to have this award wrapped up.
There is still some value in betting on Reid at +130, but going with Monk at -170 is the best betting option in this market.
- Pick: Monk (-170)
