When Luka Doncic returned for the Dallas Mavericks, everybody expected that they were going to easily be able to take care of business against the Utah Jazz.
However, this was the last thing that happened as Utah was able to take the first game of the series where he was back and tie it at 2-2 after a 100-99 victory.
The first three games of the series actually saw the Mavericks dominating against the Utah Jazz. It looked as if once Luka did return, Dallas was going to be able to walk away with two easy wins and get ready to take on the winner of the New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns series.
Dallas couldn’t get much going in Game 4, as even with Luka’s 30 points, it was obvious that he wasn’t in the same shape he was prior to his ankle injury. But, he should be able to return to his normal self soon.
Utah, on the other hand, got some contributions from multiple role players, including Jordan Clarkson, who led the way with 25 points.
There are a few statistical facts in this game that the sports betting guides show that Utah should have been able to walk away with this win, and they did exactly that.

Jazz Betting Analysis
When thinking about the Utah Jazz, the first thing that is always going to come to mind is how this team has underperformed in the past several playoffs. It looked like that trend was going to continue, but they were able to come out with a gritty win, and we have to give it to them for doing exactly that.
They got this win because they finally got contributions out of other guys out on the court and also shot 42 free throws. Although they did only shoot 61.9% from the free-throw line as they went 26-42, if Utah continues getting to the line at this type of level, they should be able to win the series somewhat easily.
Utah also dominated on the offensive glass as they had that 13 offensive rebounds compared to the Mavericks’ seven. Not only were they able to dominate the offensive glass, but Utah also had fewer turnovers, more points in the paint, and eight fewer fouls.
Dallas Betting Analysis
Considering that Luka Doncic did return for the Dallas Mavericks, it seems likely that they were going to be able to easily walk away with a victory.
However, this team wasn’t able to get much going on the offensive side of the ball as they shot 15-44 from three-point range and also turned the ball over 11 times.
Dallas was able to get other contributions outside of Luka as Jalen Brunson was able to do his normal thing at this point as he finished with 23 points.
Unfortunately for Dallas, they were only able to get five points out of Spencer Dinwiddie, and he was brutal down the stretch. If Dallas is going to want to be the team that they’re hoping to be, Dinwiddie has to be much better than he was on Saturday night.

Luka should be good to go from here on out after missing the first three games with an ankle injury. Let’s look at some of the betting stats NBA:

- Utah is 34-49-3 ATS this season.

Jazz at Mavericks Betting Preview
NBA betting odds have Dallas as a -3.5 point favorite. The Mavericks are -145 on the Moneyline, while Utah is +135. The over/under in this one is going to be at 211.5.
Jazz at Mavericks Betting Prediction
Dallas is going to have an interesting time trying to get others involved now with Luka Doncic back on the court. If they can figure out a way at to get other guys involved and they can hit their open shots, the Dallas Mavericks should be able to walk away with a win.
When looking at how well they were able to play after a loss, as they were 23-8 against the spread this season following a loss, it seems likely that they should go up 3-2 in the series.
The Utah Jazz haven’t looked great this series, but it looks like something clicked for this team in their win on Saturday. If they can get a repeat type of performance on Saturday and also hit more of their free throws as they missed nearly twenty, we could also see them go up 3-2.
When making your NBA picks, take Utah +3.5.
