Yale Bulldogs vs. Butler Bulldogs Odds, Picks, and Prediction

The battle of the Bulldogs takes place on Tuesday night for one of the best NCAA basketball games today. The Yale Bulldogs travel to the Hinkle Fieldhouse and take on the Butler Bulldogs.

While Butler is typically one of the best mid-major programs in America, this is a game that Yale does have a chance in because of some of its college basketball players.

It will be interesting to see if they can build on their 8-1 record against a team like Butler. Butler comes in at 6-3 this season after an impressive 14-point win against Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Neither team is in the top 25 of the college basketball standings. Let’s break down the Yale vs Butler odds, picks, predictions, and more with our best bet below.

Yale Bulldogs vs. Butler Bulldogs Odds

The current NCAAB odds are going to favor Butler at -6, and that’s a questionable line to me.

Yale Bulldogs

Because of what Yale has been able to do this season, our Yale Bulldogs picks might have to be backing them at +6 for -110 odds.

Butler Bulldogs

While I do think the line is somewhat questionable, there can also be a case made that Butler should be favored by a couple of more points.

This is going to be a fun game, and if Yale comes out and does its thing, they can even win this game outright at +225 odds. The over/under in this game is 130.5, showing that both defenses are legit.

Yale Bulldogs vs. Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Let’s get it out of the way early; both of these teams are two of the best NCAA basketball teams out there and can beat anyone on any given night.

While that’s a good thing for both of these teams, it makes our Yale vs Butler odds breakdown a bit different than how we would typically look at a game like this.

There has to be something said about what Yale has done, but Butler has certainly played a tougher NCAAB schedule to start the season.

Butler has played the likes of:

  • Penn State
  • Citadel
  • Tennessee
  • BYU
  • NC State
  • Kansas State

Those are some of the best programs in the nation right there. 6-3 might not be the start of the season that they were necessarily hoping for, but it’s still a good start.

The Butler Bulldogs standings don’t see them in the top 25, and that’s always going to be looked at as a disappointment for them because of who they are.

However, they still have more than enough time to continue building upon that and being ranked soon.

NCAAB Injury Report

The college basketball injury report is getting clean for them, and that’s pivotal for the success they’re looking for.

The Yale Bulldogs have impressed this year, and they need to continue doing that in this game. Their wins this season that are impressive are against:

  • Hawaii
  • Vermont
  • Stony Brook

The one loss they had was against an above-average Colorado team and they only lost by three points.

The one guy I’m going to be looking for in this one is EJ Jarvis. As one of the better college basketball players in the Ivy League, he needs to get going in this game if Yale is going to win.

Yale will have a tough time if their guys don’t come ready to play.

Yale Bulldogs vs. Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

We’re now here with the Yale vs Butler odds and best bet for this game. Yale comes into this one playing some impressive basketball, and I think that has to be kept in the back of our minds.

However, this one is going to be played at Butler, and that’s another thing we should keep in the back of our minds.

If Butler can come out and continue doing what they’ve been able to do for most of the season, they should feel good here.

I’m going to back Butler at -5 and buy a point for -135 odds. Butler has the ability to win this game by 10-plus, and while I do think they win by six or more, I feel better taking them at -5.

It seems like a better time to play the juice and be safe here.

NCAAB Pick: Butler -6 (-110)
