Alabama Crimson Tide at Florida Gators Betting Preview
The Alabama Crimson Tide get their first true road test of the season as they are set to face off with the Florida Gators. This contest features the second time the Crimson Tide are facing a top 25 opponent. Florida has done some really nice things this season, but the team is young and is still in a rebuilding phase.
Alabama Crimson Tide Preview
The Crimson Tide hit the road as 15 point road favorites to walk out of the swap with another win. Led by star quarterback Bryce Young, who has been nothing short of spectacular this season, it’s easy to see why the Tide are two-touchdown favorites.
The Gators have been pretty good at moving the chains this season, but it hasn’t been as sharp as the numbers show despite all the production. The Gators feature the number No. 2 rushing attack in the nation in the early going, but their passing game is still catching up. Florida has a hard time with turnovers, and against Bama, they can’t afford these things to happen, especially in the red zone.
Alabama still features the best team in the country by a long shot, and while they have their flaws and might miss a few assignments here or there, this team is looking more and more like another Crimson Tide championship team under Nick Saban. This will be a competitive game, but it will be another tune-up game for Bama as they continue to work on cleaning up penalties and finding consistency.
Florida Gators Preview
Bama is coming off wins over Miami and Mercer, and while this is arguably the most talented team in the country, we have seen better teams in the past get upset in games such as this. No, we are not taking away from the chance they will most likely run away with this game, but there is always that slim chance. We have seen a lot of upsets in the early going so far this season.
Nick Saban was spotted saying his teams are held to a higher standard given the program he has built, and yes, this is true on how the nation perceives this team. While he thinks it’s still learning and growing, he is right that they have an issue with penalties, and the running game has had a hard time catching up to the passing game. The Gators should find a way to take advantage of this.
The Gators feature a two quarterback tandem with Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson, but if Bama is able to find a way to contain these two and stop them from getting comfortable, the Tide should be okay. The Bama defense is going to be hurting with the departure of linebacker Chris Allen who is out with a foot injury potentially for the season.
Florida should be able to put tons of pressure on Bryce Young and be able to contain the lackluster running game they showcase. If the Gators had a chance to pull off an upset on the national stage, this would be their time.
These two teams have met a total of 40 times, dating all the way back to 1916. In their most previous contest, the Crimson Tide came away with a narrow victory 52-46 back in 2020. Alabama holds the matchup 26-14 and are riding a seven-game winning streak over Florida. The longest win streak in the series was eight, and Bama is nearing a tie in that mark. Since 2008 these two teams have met seven times as ranked opponents.
