The “Conference of Champions” is the nickname given to the Pac-12 Conference, but another league might be able to use that soon. That’s because the Pac-12 Conference might cease to exist at the conclusion of the 2023-24 school year as conference realignment is killing this league.
Schools have been changing leagues like crazy over the past few years, but the Power 5 Conferences have only appeared to be getting stronger. That’s no longer the case with the Pac-12 as it is losing all of its flagship schools.
You might be able to find some Pac-12 teams futures heading into the 2023 college football season, but that likely won’t be the case after this year. Instead, you might see some betting odds that ask how many schools will remain in the Pac-12 in 2024 and beyond.
What Schools Remain?
The college football odds for the Pac-12 Conference have had the same few teams at the bottom in recent years, and those are the schools that appear to be stuck. There are four schools that have not yet announced a move, but they also haven’t been able to figure out what to do moving forward.
The four schools that remain in the Pac-12 are Cal, Oregon State, Stanford, and Washington State, and these schools could be in big trouble. The ACC was potentially looking to add two of these schools, but that hasn’t been announced yet.
There is no way that a league can exist with just four teams, and these schools won’t be able to get enough games scheduled anyways. Something is going to have to be done, and there needs to be a move made soon.
Schools Went Everywhere
The Pac-12 teams futures heading into the 2023 college football season have some of the usual suspects right at the top. Teams like USC, Oregon, and Washington have all been among the best in the league over the last few years, but those schools are moving on.
There have been some great Pac-12 team stats during college football over the last few years, but this league has never been able to win on the biggest stage. That’s one reason that teams are leaving, but the other big reason is money.
Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington Huskies have all decided to jump ship and head to the Big Ten Conference in a move that was stunning. That puts the Big Ten Conference at 18 teams, and they now cover coast to coast.
The Big 12 Conference was also looking to poach schools from the Pac-12 Conference, and they were able to add Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah. Colorado was the first to make the move, but then the Big 12 Conference got greedy and added the other schools.
The Pac-12 was one of the last leagues that was pretty centered geographically, but those schools were willing to do some traveling in order to leave.
A Prediction
If you are ever able to find the Pac-12 teams futures betting odds, then it might be a wager that you want to consider making. Futures betting is usually always pretty valuable, and you might be able to take advantage of some good odds with this bet.
The remaining Pac-12 Conference schools will be looking to do everything in their power to keep this league together, but it’s just not going to happen. You need to enjoy the college football results from the Pac-12 this season, as it is going to be the last one that is played.
Other leagues are going to swallow up the remaining four NCAAF programs, and there just won’t be anyone left to continue to “Conference of Champions.” If you see any betting odds for this market, then you need to take the option that is set at “0.”
