Let’s see which team is the one who takes the win on this Hurricanes at Panthers betting preview.
The Miami Hurricanes will travel to Heinz Field on Saturday afternoon to take on the 17th-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers in an ACC matchup. The Hurricanes are 3-4 (1-2) so far this season and are coming off a 31-30 home win over the 18th-ranked NC State Wolfpack.
Freshman quarterback Tyler Van Dyke had his best game as he went 25-of-33 for 325 yards with four touchdowns. The Panthers are 6-1 (3-0) and are coming off a 27-17 home win over the Clemson Tigers. Senior quarterback Kenny Pickett had a good game as he went 25-of-39 for 302 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
Run Harris Run
The Miami Hurricanes love to run the football as junior running back Cam’Ron Harris has been effective with 71 carries for 409 yards (5.8 yards per attempt) with five touchdowns this season and 11 receptions for 119 yards (10.8 yards per catch) with a receiving touchdown. In his last game against the UNC Tar Heels, he finished with six rushes for 26 yards (4.3 yards per attempt). If Harris can bounce back in this game, it will be great for the program.
The Miami Hurricanes have been struggling defensively this year as they are allowing 30 points per game. In their previous game against the NC State Wolfpack, they allowed 30 points on 421 total yards of offense (310 passing, 111 rushings). The defense was great as they allowed NC State to go 3-of-14 on third down and 1-of-2 on fourth down attempts. They also ran the ball extremely well, as the Wolfpack averaged 5.0 rushing yards per attempt. If Miami can figure out how to stuff opposing running attacks, they will be in a lot better shape here.
Adding Score with Addison
The Pittsburgh Panthers have been a solid offensive team with sophomore wide receiver Jordan Addsion. So far, he is listed as questionable with a concussion but has 39 receptions for 670 yards (17.2 yards per catch) with ten touchdowns. In his last game against the Clemson Tigers, Addison finished with five catches for 84 yards (16.8 yards per reception) and a touchdown. If he can continue to find the end zone, as he did in four of the previous five games, it will do wonders for the Panthers here.
The Pittsburgh Panthers have been a solid defensive team as they are giving up 19.6 points per game this season. In their previous game against the Clemson Tigers, they allowed 17 points on 315 total yards of offense (151 passing, 164 rushings). The Tigers struggled to move the ball as they went 4-of-11 on third-down attempts. They also need to stuff the run as Clemson averaged 5.5 rushing yards per attempt. If they can figure out how to improve their rush defense, it will be a great chance to win here.
Who to Bet on Hurricanes at Panthers
There is a reason why the Pittsburgh Panthers are ranked while the Miami Hurricanes are unranked. The Panthers are solid at covering the spread as they are 6-1 against the spread, while the Hurricanes are 3-4 against the spread. Kenny Pickett has been phenomenal as in his last five games. He has 19 touchdowns to a single interception. Pittsburgh’s offense is incredible as they are averaging 45.3 points while Miami is averaging 32.1 points. All in all, go with the Pittsburgh Panthers to cover a single-digit spread at home against the Miami Hurricanes.
