The Falcons and the Ravens enter this game, both needing a win to keep their hopes
of winning their divisions alive. Will Lamar be able to return to his team and lead them to victory, or will Desmond Ridder find his first win in the NFL?
Lucky for us, we won’t have to wait till Sunday as this is one of the many NFL matchups being played on Saturday around the holiday schedule this week. We have you covered for Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens best bets and analysis.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Baltimore Ravens Information
Despite the Ravens’ 2022-23 being better to them than the Atlanta Falcons‘ schedule 2022-23, both teams find themselves in a tight race for their division leads, with both sitting a single game behind first place in their respective divisions in the NFL team standings.
The Ravens come in at 9-5 behind the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals, while the Falcons enter at 5-9 behind the lukewarm Tamp Bay Buccaneers. Both teams could use this win as the end of the NFL schedule approaches.
Last Game Score Record
Last week, the Ravens had one of their worst showing against one of their rivals as they lost a miserable 13-3 game to the Cleveland Browns. The Jackson-less Ravens couldn’t get anything going on offense as Tyler Huntley put up some bad NFL player stats, completing only 17 of 20 for 138 yards and an INT.
Though their defense played well, the offense proved useless without Lamar, so his return this week should be a relief for Ravens fans.
The Falcons are coming into this one off a 21-18 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Desmond Ridder’s NFL debut. Ridder only completed 13 of 26 for 97 yards but showed his competitiveness as he tried to rally his team after coming out to a quick 14-0 deficit at the end of the 1st.
Ridder can and will only get better. Fans shouldn’t write him off after only one game, as the Atlanta offense is a run-heavy style of play that should be easier for Ridder to learn quickly than one that would require him to make a ton of downfield reads and stand in the pocket.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Baltimore Ravens Analysis
This game could very well come down to the status of Lamar Jackson, who has spent his time the past few weeks on the NFL injury report. If Jackson is able to return, expect the Ravens to return to the high level of play they had early on in the season. The Ravens’ defense hasn’t stopped putting up great defensive NFL team stats holding teams to a 4th best 18.8 points a contest. All the Ravens need is to get that spark on offense that Huntley just can’t provide.
Everyone knows that Atlanta would rather play against Huntley over Jackson, as their defense has been atrocious this year, and they need every break they can get as they currently are giving up the 11th most points in the league and the 5th most yards. If the Falcons find themselves in a favorable matchup on defense, Ridder could conceivably lead this offense to points as the offense relies more on the run game than the performance of the QB.
Odds Breakdown
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are coming in as +7 point underdogs in what is one of the larger NFL point spreads this week. Their moneyline is currently +240, and the total is 40 points.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens’ odds are -285 for the money line. They are -7 when making NFL picks against the spread, which happens to be one of my Falcons vs Ravens best bets.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Pick and Prediction
I have Jackson returning and making a big splash this week, reminding the Baltimore Ravens that he is the key component to their offense and deserves to get paid. I think that Ridder has a better showing but still struggles against a stellar Ravens defense. However, on the off chance that Lamar isn’t available to play Saturday, I think the Falcons have a real shot at winning.
My Falcons vs Ravens best bets are picked using my prediction of the Ravens winning 31-17.
- BAL -7
- O 40
