The New Orleans Saints will travel to Lumen Field on Monday night to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a Week 7 matchup. The Saints are second in the NFC South with a 3-2 and are off their bye week but are also coming off a 33-22 road win over the Washington Football Team.
Jameis Winston finished 15-of-30 for 279 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. The Seahawks are last in the NFC West with a 2-3 record and are coming off a 23-20 overtime road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Geno Smith finished going 23-of-32 for 209 yards and a touchdown.
More Than A Running Back
The New Orleans Saints offense goes through running back Alvin Kamara. So far this season, he has 94 attempts for 368 yards (3.9 yards per rush) with a rushing touchdown while also adding 15 receptions for 113 yards (7.5 yards per catch) and three receiving touchdowns.
In his last game against the Washington Football Team, Kamara finished with 16 rushes for 71 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and a touchdown on the ground, and five catches for 51 yards (10.2 yards per reception) and an additional touchdown. If he can continue having a nose for the end zone, it will do wonders for the Saints.
The New Orleans Saints are a solid defensive team this season as they are allowing 18.2 points per game.
In their previous game against the Washington Football Team, they gave up 22 points on 373 total yards of offense (242 passing, 131 rushing). They did a good job as they held Washington to 5-of-16 on third down and 1-of-3 on fourth.
Solid Out Wide
The Seattle Seahawks have one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the game with DK Metcalf. So far this season, he has 31 catches for 441 yards (14.2 yards per reception) and five touchdowns.
In his last game against the Steelers, Metcalf finished with six receptions on seven targets for 58 yards (9.7 yards per catch). If he can be more involved, it will really help Seattle here.
The Seattle Seahawks are a decent defensive team as they are giving up 24.8 points per game. In their previous game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they allowed 23 points on 345 total yards of offense (226 passing, 119 rushing).
They need to improve a little bit as the Steelers finished with 4.9 yards per play. If they can be a little better, they can win without Russell Wilson.
Who to Bet
This game seems to sit around the Saints being favored by four points. The Seahawks are terrible against the pass and are going to be without quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Chris Carson as both are currently on Injured Reserve.
However, the Saints are a solid offensive team even without Michael Thomas being active. New Orleans have covered the spread in five of the last seven games against Seattle, so go with the New Orleans Saints to win and cover the spread here.
