New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Analysis
The Saints are one of three teams in the NFC South with a win in Week One of the season. The Saints knew what they were getting when they grabbed Derek Carr as their starting quarterback. Carr has always thrown the ball around the field, which did not change on Sunday. He finished with 305 passing yards and a score. The touchdown pass came to second-year receiver Chris Olave. Olave was brilliant, with 115 yards and a touchdown.
Former Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is carrying the torch for the run game. He carried the football 18 times for just 45 yards in the win. Williams will certainly start splitting the world load when Alvin Kamara comes back from his suspension in Week Four.
The Saints are playing their first of back-to-back road games. Next week, the New Orleans Saints schedule shows they are in Green Bay to take on the Packers.
Carolina saw Bryce Young go through plenty of struggles in his first NFL start. The former Alabama signal caller threw 38 passes, completing 20 of them, for 146 yards and a touchdown, but also two interceptions. Hayden Hurst, the tight end, was the team’s leading receiver with five receptions, 41 yards, and a touchdown for his NFL Player Stats. Hurst led all tight ends in Week One in fantasy points.
Miles Sanders, in his first game with the Panthers since coming over from Philadelphia, got 18 carries and finished the game with 72 yards. The Panthers held in the game but could not muster more than 10 points at the Falcons. Carolina will head on the road in Week 3 to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Carolina Panthers picks will be popular against them until they figure out how to score.
New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Betting Picks
Bryce Young did not look awful in his debut, but he needs assistance getting through his rookie season. The roster is not overly stocked with help, and he has a guy to bail him out. The running game is not great, which also could hurt the confidence of the signal caller. On the other side, New Orleans is a confident veteran quarterback who has been there and done that.
The Panthers will keep this game close, but in the end, the right betting pick to make here is the New Orleans Saints on the road. Our final Saints vs. Panthers betting picks – Take the Saints -3 over the Panthers on Monday Night Football.
New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Prediction
The final score prediction for this game is going to be low-scoring. The Panthers will want to kill the clock by moving the football via the ground. Look for the Saints to air it out a bit more, as Derek Carr loves to push the football downfield.
The final score prediction is the New Orleans Saints 21-17 over the Carolina Panthers on Monday.
