The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to SoFi Stadium on Sunday night to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC matchup.
The Steelers are second in the AFC North with a 5-3 record and are coming off a 16-16 tie at home against the Detroit Lions. Mason Rudolph went 30-of-50 for 242 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The Chargers are also second in their division as they are 5-4 as members of the AFC West and are coming off a 27-20 home loss against the Minnesota Vikings. Justin Herbert finished 20-of-34 for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception.
Pittsburgh Steelers Preview: Najee Equals the Offense
Rookie running back Najee Harris has been the key cog of the Steelers offense as he has 176 rushes for 646 yards (3.7 yards per rush) with four rushing touchdowns and 44 receptions for 317 yards (7.2 yards per catch) with two receiving touchdowns.
In his last game against the Lions, Harris had 26 attempts for 105 yards (four yards per carry) as well as four catches for 28 yards (seven yards per catch).
The Pittsburgh Steelers have actually been a pretty good defensive team this season as they are allowing 20.3 points per game. In their previous game against the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh gave up 16 points on 306 total yards of offense (77 passing, 229 rushing).
The Lions did not move the chains well as they went 4-of-18 on third down but converted both four down attempts. Pittsburgh did not allow Detroit to get into scoring range either, as they only had one possession end up in the red zone.
Los Angeles Chargers Preview: Experience Out Wide
Wide receiver Keenan Allen has been playing pretty well this year as he has 65 catches on 93 targets for 698 yards (10.7 yards per reception) with two receiving touchdowns. In their last game against the Vikings, Allen finished with eight receptions on 11 targets for 98 yards (12.3 yards per catch).
The Los Angeles Chargers have been a decent defensive unit throughout the first half of the regular season as they are giving up 25.3 points per game. In their previous game against the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles allowed 27 points on 381 total yards of offense (278 passing, 103 rushing).
The Vikings move the ball decently well as they went 5-of-14 on third down and converted both of their pair of fourth-down opportunities. Los Angeles needs to defend the run a tiny bit better as they allowed 3.1 rushing yards per attempt throughout the entire game.
Who to Bet on Steelers at Chargers
The top sportsbooks in the entire United States have this game favored by the home team but under a full touchdown and extra point. The Steelers have not been covering this season as they are 3-6 against the spread this season.
Ben Roethlisberger is ready to play, and that should give a little bit of a boost for Pittsburgh, but they have not been scoring the ball enough this season as they are averaging under 20 points this year.
Justin Herbert has been playing well recently as he has ten touchdowns to four interceptions in his last five games. All in all, go with the Los Angeles Steelers to cover the spread at home.
