Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview
The Cleveland Browns needed late magic to come from behind and beat the Jets in the Hall of Fame Game. In the loss in Week 1, the Browns scored the first two points of the game as they picked up an early safety. Cleveland did not score again until late in the third quarter.
David Bell caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Dorian Thompson-Robinson to make the game 17-9 at that point. The Browns had a chance to tie it late as Kellen Mond hooked up with Mike Harley Jr for a touchdown, but the two-point conversion was no good, and the final was 17-15 in favor of the Commanders.
Looking at the NFL team stats, the Browns used four quarterbacks, including their first-string guy DeShaun Watson. Watson threw just three passes but did get on the field. Josh Dobbs came in and threw eight of 16 for 77 yards and an interception in the game as well.
Cleveland saw Austin Watkins Jr have a second straight big game for them, as he caught six passes for 71 yards in the game.
Philadelphia Eagles’ Performance Highlights
For the Philadelphia Eagles, after leading 13-10 at halftime, they scored just six second-half points and lost the game 20-19. The win for the Ravens was their 24th straight preseason win.
Jake Elliott was the hero of the first half with two field goals, while Trey Sermon scored the lone Eagles touchdown. Of course, when the regular season starts, Jalen Hurts will be the starting quarterback, and he will start the season with one of the lowest NFL MVP Odds.
The fourth-quarter scoring came from the defensive side, as Eli Ricks picked off a pass and returned it 31 yards for the score. The Eagles went for two and failed and did not score again, falling 20-19.
A quick look at the NFL player stats reveals that Philadelphia used three quarterbacks, Tanner McKee, Ian Book, and Marcus Mariota. McKee passed it 20 times for 148 yards in the game. Rashaad Penny got some early looks in the game and rushed nine times for 34 yards.
D’Andre Swift also got action, with two carries. Tyrie Cleveland was the top receiver for the Eagles, finishing with five catches and 68 yards in the game.
Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Prediction
It is the third of four preseason Cleveland Browns games. It will be interesting to see who they suit up in this game but do not be surprised if some of the top guys get a little time.
For Philadelphia, after falling in their preseason opener, we feel like they are going to come out and play a little better in this one. In the end, this is still one of the best teams in all of the National Football League.
When betting on this game – our Browns vs Eagles Betting Analysis – take the Philadelphia Eagles -2.5, and bet the over.
Barring any late additions to the NFL injury report, the best bet is to take the Eagles -2.50 points.
