Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons Analysis
The Minnesota Vikings may have won the game, but the worst news was losing their starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins is now on the NFL Injury Report with a torn Achilles. Cousins was playing good football as of late, and putting up solid numbers. The signal-caller had great NFL Player Stats with over 2,300 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. Also out is Justin Jefferson, the team’s top receiver.
Minnesota has not named who will replace Cousins as the signal caller. To finish the win over Green Bay, Jaren Hall came in and was 3 for 4 for 23 yards to seal the deal. Jordan Addison is having a great rookie season for the Vikings, with 7 touchdowns, and has taken over the top role with the loss of Jefferson. TJ Hockenson is also providing big numbers for Minnesota, just shy of 500 yards at the tight end spot.
The Vikings have a long road ahead. They still have four games before their bye week. After this, they host the Saints, and then go on the road to Denver. The Monday after Thanksgiving, the Vikings host the Chicago Bears before their bye to start December. The Minnesota Vikings roster is deep, but more injuries could mean big problems for this team.
Falcons’ Inconsistency
The Atlanta Falcons have not won two straight games since their first two of the season. Atlanta also got bad news when they lost their quarterback Desmond Ridder to injury as well. It is not known his status for this game as of Monday morning. Ridder had thrown for over 1,700 yards and six touchdowns so far in 2023.
His replacement was Taylor Heinicke. He came in and tossed for 175 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons would love to get their run game going. Atlanta is a run-first offense that got used to throwing the ball a lot before Ridder got hurt. Atlanta drafted Bijan Robinson, and he got his first touchdown on the ground last week.
Robinson has 92 carries, 466 yards, and a touchdown on the season. Atlanta will play at Arizona next week, before taking the week off. The Falcons then will host the Saints on November 26th.
Vikings vs. Falcons Betting Picks
Here comes our Vikings vs Falcons betting picks: The Minnesota Vikings still have a better overall team than the Atlanta Falcons. If the Falcons can not and do not run the ball effectively enough, they will not win. Not sure what the quarterback status of the Vikings is though is a big-time problem.
Minnesota was throwing the ball really well before the injury. That gives us the idea that betting on the Falcons is the better idea. Until we see what the Vikings can do on offense, we cannot bet on them. Take Atlanta -4 here.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction
If Minnesota cannot run the football well, and now have a backup quarterback, how are they going to score points? They will struggle. In a low-scoring game, the Falcons win this game.
The final score prediction for this game is the Falcons 20-14 over the Vikings.
- NFL Pick: Atlanta -4
