They lost 8-2 to the Blues on Saturday and, before that, dropped a 4-3 decision to Seattle at home. Colorado Avalanche vs Seattle Kraken Analysis
It has been a rough ride as of late for the Colorado Avalanche players on the road with three consecutive losses by scores of 7-0, 4-0, and 4-0. Goaltending and team defense has been awful, but it has been surprising they’ve been unable to score with such a talented group of forwards. Overall, the Avalanche are 5-5-0 since an impressive 3-0 start and are allowing an average of 3.8 goals against while only scoring 3.2 goals per game in that stretch.
Mikko Rantanen leads the Avalanche in NHL player stats with 19 points (9 goals, 10 assists), while Cale Makar, among the NHL picks today to win the Norris Trophy again, is second with 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists). Depth scoring has been an issue.
Seattle, meanwhile, hasn’t fared much better in NHL stats. They’re 29th in goals (2.6) and T21st in goals allowed (3.4). They’ve been a little better since a disastrous start and are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games, but have been unable to get on a run. The Seattle Kraken schedule hasn’t been all that tough either as four of their last five games have been against teams outside of the playoffs.
Jaden Schwartz leads the Kraken in points with 14 (8 goals, 6 assists), while defenseman Vince Dunn is second with 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists). Seattle is just 2-4 on home ice this season. This is their third meeting against the Avalanche this season. They’re 1-1 in two previous Avalanche vs. Kraken best bets.
Colorado is without Artturi Lehkonen and Andrew Cogliano, while Brandon Tanev, Andre Burakovsky, and Jordan Eberle are all on the NHL injury report for the Kraken.
