Saturday gives us the rare occurrence in English football as giants Liverpool and Chelsea meet for the fourth time this season. Liverpool is still chasing the quadruple, which started with their EFL Cup win over Chelsea. Check the Liverpool vs Chelsea Betting Analysis below.
They will need help chasing down Manchester City for the Premier League title, but they can take step number two with a win Saturday and then face Real Madrid in the Champions League Final at the end of the month.
Chelsea meanwhile find themselves battling on two fronts, for a top four finish in the Premier League and revenge against Liverpool in Saturday’s FA Cup Final.
The Blues are in third place for the moment in the Premier League, with three games to play. They are fighting off fellow London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham to finish top four and make next year’s Champions League.
Saturday marks just the second time that the same two teams have met in the EFL Cup Final and the FA Cup Final in the same season. That also happened in 1997 when Arsenal won both over Sheffield Wednesday.
Chelsea is in their third straight FA Cup Final and looking to lift the trophy for the ninth time overall. Liverpool last made the final in 2012 as runner up and have seven titles all time, the last in 2006.
Last Game Records
They last played each other in the EFL Cup Final in February, a 0-0 draw won by Liverpool 11-10 in penalties. They also drew in both their Premier League games this season, 1-1 at Liverpool in August, and 2-2 at Chelsea in January.
Liverpool won their most recent Premier League game 2-1 at Aston Villa while Chelsea played Leeds United on Wednesday before the FA Cup Final. Here Liverpool vs Chelsea Betting Analysis next.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Betting Analysis
Ever since Thomas Tuchel arrived, Chelsea have made it to finals consistently performing well in any knockout tournament. They won the 2021 Champions League and Super Cup before also winning the FIFA Club World Cup. Last year they reached the FA Cup Final before falling to Leicester City 1-0.
Liverpool are one of the most complete teams in the world, led by manager Jurgen Klopp. The German tactician has led a resurgence at Anfield and this is the only trophy missing from his resume.
Liverpool Content
Liverpool are led by Mo Salah up top with 30 goals and 15 assists. He partners Sadio Mane who has 21 goals overall this season while Diogo Jota usually comes off the bench to provide firepower with 21 goals. Luis Diaz has brought a boost in the January transfer window as well, scoring some big goals for the Reds this spring.
The defense is tremendous with Alisson in goal posting 26 clean sheets this season. Trent Alexander-Arnold has 18 assists from right-back and Andrew Robertson has 14 from left-back. Virgil Van Dijk holds down the middle, likely with Joel Matip on Saturday. Jordan Henderson is the only lock to start in midfield with Thiago, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita as possibilities with him.
Liverpool rested Salah, Henderso and Alcantara from the starting lineup against Aston Villa on Tuesday while Robertson didn’t play at all. Salah came on after Mane scored his 15th goal of the EPL season for a 2-1 Liverpool lead.
Chelsea Content
Chelsea play a 3-4-1-2 that usually features Timo Werner and Kai Havertz up top, though Romelu Lukaku got his starting spot back in league play last weekend. Mason Mount takes the attacking spot behind them with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic as options in midfield. Marcos Alonso will handle the left wing with Cesar Azpilicueta on the right wing.
The defense is led by keeper Edouard Mendy who has 21 clean sheets on the season, including two in his two FA Cup starts. Thiago Silva or Andreas Christensen will man the middle with Reece James at right back and Antonio Rudiger at left back.
Tuchel has options off the bench as well, including American Christian Pulisic, who scored in the 2020 FA Cup Final loss to Arsenal. His Wednesday lineup against Leeds could go a long way into foreshadowing who starts on Saturday in the Cup Final.
Updates
Sadly for Liverpool, Fabinho appeared to injure his hamstring in the 30th minute on Tuesday and left the game. Roberto Firmino returned against Villa but was unused and Robertson just got a rest. Jorginho and Kante are both hobbled for Chelsea and face a fitness test to be ready for Saturday, while Ben Chilwell remains out.

There is very little mystery between these teams as they have played three times this season. Chelsea led one game before Liverpool tied it, then vice versa in game two, and no one scored in game three until penalty kicks.
Looking at the soccer odds and FA Cup odds, Liverpool is favored at +160 on the 3-way betline with Chelsea at +270 and a draw at +260. If you want to bet just to win the cup and take the draw out of the equation, Liverpool is -285 and Chelsea is +140.
Over 2.5 goals scored is -120, under is -110 and both teams to score is -150. Salah is the goal scoring favorite at +135 with Jota at +185, Mane at +200 and Diaz at +230 for Liverpool. Havertz leads the goal scoring bets for Chelsea at +240 with Lukaku at +275 and Mount at +300.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Betting Prediction
The way these teams have played this year, this game will be tight as well if we’re making FA Cup Final predictions. The managers know each other well and both want to be the first German coach to ever lift the FA Cup. Thinking of soccer picks, a 0-0 game again is unlikely and both teams to score seems like a safe bet given the way both teams play as neither is afraid to be aggressive.
In the end, take Liverpool to win and lift the cup, 2-1.
