Christian Garin and Nick Kyrgios were involved in two of the most competitive and entertaining fourth round matches at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club and now both players will face off in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Kyrgios, who has been fined twice in the tournament for unsportsmanlike actions, was relatively calm in his five-set victory over Brandon Nakashima in the fourth round. If you’re betting on tennis based on confidence, there’s no better Tennis pick than Kyrgios right now.
Garin, however, has to keep the momentum going after his incredible, come-from-behind victory over Australian Alex De Minaur. Garin, trailing two sets, won the third and fifth sets in a tiebreaker and was clearly exasperated following the match.

Kyrgios and Garin have yet to play each other on the ATP Tour.

Garin vs. Kyrgios Betting Analysis
An unlikely quarter-final at first glance should be a great match. Both players are at their best on grass, so wouldn’t be considered favorites for tennis odds. Kyrgios is 49-24 on grass in his career, while Garin has an 18-10 record.
Kyrgios has said he believes he’s one of the best grass court players on the planet before Wimbledon and he’s proving it. He’s now 5-0 in five-set matches at Wimbledon after his fourth round victory. He also leads all ATP Tour players in grass court wins (11) this season.
“I’ve played a lot of tennis in the last month and a half,” Kyrgios said after his fourth round match. “I’m just proud of the way I steadied the ship [after dropping the fourth set]. Honestly that’s what I was thinking about: I’ve never lost a five-set match here. … I was like, ‘I’ve been here before. I’ve done it before.”
Garin’s Exhausting Victory
Garin dropped the first two sets in his fourth round match against Alex De Minaur and seemed as though he would go out in straight sets before winning a momentum-building tiebreak in the third set. He ended up winning the match 2-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, 7-6.
The victory puts Garin, who came into Wimbledon having lost his last three consecutive matches, into the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. He’ll have to overcome fatigue, however.
Garin’s fourth-round match went longer than 4 and a half hours. He has played in excess of three hours longer at Wimbledon than Kyrgios.
How’s Kyrgios’ Shoulder?
Kyrgios seemed to have some trouble with his hip in his intense third round match with Stefanos Tsitsipas, but it was his right shoulder that caused some concern during his fourth round victory over Brandon Nakishima. Kyrgios had to take a medical timeout during the first set, but of course rallied to win the match and didn’t show signs of pain much later in the match.
He did, however, require attention from a trainer during changeovers and, at one point, saw his serve speed drop from 135-plus mph to around 110 mph. The way he closed out the fifth set in dominant fashion should quel concerns about his shoulder, but it’s worth monitoring.
Garin vs. Kyrgios Betting Preview
Wednesday’s quarter-final is scheduled to be the third of four quarter-final matches following Tuesday’s matches involving Novak Djokovic/Jannik Sinner and David Goffin/Cameron Norrie.
The match is tentatively scheduled for 8:30 a.m. EST.
Garin vs. Kyrgios Betting Prediction
Kyrgios is clearly on a mission at Wimbledon this year and, despite his usual on-court antics, seems poised to make his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final, let alone final. He’s prioritized Wimbledon this year and it’s paying off.
Garin might struggle to replicate his incredible performance in his fourth round victory, but his tenacity will surely frustrate Kyrgios. Still, expect the Aussie to take this in four sets.
