Championships:

Oberliga Baden-Württemberg: 2000–01.

Verbandsliga Nordbaden: 1999–2000.

Hoffenheim didn’t start the league season how they expected because they lost their first match. On the other side, they managed to beat Rodinghausen in DFB Pokal and go to the next stage. Their preparation period was also not bad and they did an average job in the 2021-22 season finishing in 9th place in the Bundesliga standings.

Hoffenheim General Info

Many clubs in Germany were founded as gymnastics clubs even before 1900 which was also the case with 1899 Hoffenheim stats that go back to 1899. It took them over 40 years to establish the football club we see today.

Many people don’t know but Hoffenheim isn’t a city, it’s a village with Rhein-Neckar-Arena stadium that has a capacity of 31 000. It’s a very popular club in the region and it was very obvious that they will reach the Bundesliga schedule at some point.

Hoffenheim History

They wouldn’t have made it this far if they didn’t have the funding from Dietmar Hopp a software billionaire. They also had a stadium named by him in 1999 but they needed a bigger one for the best league in Germany. Another interesting fact about them is that they joined Bundesliga in 2008 for the first time.

1899 Hoffenheim Records

Being an average club in Bundesliga doesn’t mean that you are not that great, instead, there are a lot of great teams you are playing against. 1899 Hoffenheim stats show that they are among the great clubs in the world with 63rd place in the UEFA ranking.

They were a part of the Champions and Europa League in recent years but only managed to get out of the group stance once in Europa League. Andrej Kramaric is their best goal scorer with 101 goals since 2016.

Stanley Nsoki was the most expensive player they bought this season and he costs around 12 million euros. Besides Nsoki, they bought Ozan Kabak for 5 million euros and there were a few free transfers.

A more important transfer for them was the departure of David Raum that joined Leipzig for 26 million euros. They also sold Joao Klauss for 3.2 million, Sargis Adamyan for 1.5 million, and Mijat Gacinovic for 1 million.

Ralf Rangnick was definitely one of the reasons why they joined Bundesliga and why their Bundesliga odds grew rapidly while he was on the team. After joining the top league, they finished 7th in the first season which is an amazing result from a team that just joined the league.
