The PGA is heading into Mexico this weekend, and this is the first time they have traveled out of the country for a Tour event. The man that everyone is cheering for this week will be John Rahm, as he has been super hot in the last month of golf. We will have some of the best golfers on tour going down to this PGA event this week.
The Mexico Open odds has Rahm the favorite going into the week. For the golf picks this week, Tony Finau is another one of the favorites in Mexico, and I see Finau and Rahm playing together on Sunday afternoon.
The golf predictions have Rahm winning the Mexico Open this week as he is climbing up in the PGA rankings. When putting a bet in golf this week, we will look at three players that could make a significant impact this week as they come into this week wanting those 500 FedEx points that the Mexico Open offers.
Rahm is hot this month
There is no question that John Rahm has been the number one golfer on Tour this month as he has played lights out the past few events. Rahm has been the favorite in a lot of events this year and has not let down the bettors. Rahm is leading in the FedEx Cup standings with 2,683 points as he looks to get over 3,000 points by the end of the week.
We cannot count his last performance as he just came off a win at the Masters and did not want to let the fans down by withdrawing from the event. The golf betting guide has us taking Rahm this week as he will shoot superior at the Mexico Open this week.
- The golf odds this week has Rahm with +280 odds.
Finau is in contention
After the Full Swing documentary on Netflix, Finau has been on fire in the last few PGA Tour events that he has played in. Finau has played in 12 events this season and has had three top-10 finishes, and won the Cadence Bank Houston Open.
Finau has been on fire this year as he is in 11th place for the FedEx Cup standings with 996 points. He looks to move into the top 10 this week, as he will have a chance at 500 FedEx points if he wins this week.
Finau is overall the second favorite in the Mexico Open this week, and I believe that Finau will be the only one in the field that will give Rahm a run for his money. For the golf bets today, not many people are betting on Finau, but I think people will rethink while he plays in the last group on Sunday.
- The golf odds have Finau at +850 odds.
Woodland looks to make the top 3
Woodland has impressed me in his last few events, and the biggest event was the Masters three weeks ago. Gary Woodland was able to card three under through four days and tied for 14th place. Being able to get a top 15 at the Masters is very impressive, and for Woodland, it was a boost of confidence.
Woodland has not had a great season as he is in 100th place in the FedEx Cup race, as he only has 265 points. The Mexico Open could be Woodland’s breakout week for Woodland as he moves up in the rankings. I see Woodland being able to play in the last group on Sunday, as the Mexico Open could be considered one of the easier courses on the PGA Tour event lists.
- The golf odds for this week have Woodland at +3200 odds.
